The 7.5 ton Sun Pro capacity, connected to the 575 V network of your industrial building

In a factory, a warehouse or a shop supplied at 575 V, cooling the offices, the break room or a light production area should not call for a step-down transformer. This YORK Sun Pro packaged heat pump delivers exactly the same capacity as the 208/230 V version, but it is built for 575 V three-phase. Our teams take care of the lift, the commissioning and the maintenance, so your maintenance staff does not have to get to know a new unit on their own. We work in industrial buildings in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, on the North Shore and on the South Shore.

What the 575 V version changes

The YORK guide allows an applied voltage from 540 to 630 V for this version. The connection is made directly on the building's 575 V distribution, and the electrical accessories follow the same voltage: the electric heat kits of 9, 18, 24 and 36 kW and the powered exhaust fan are available in 575 V. Performance, for its part, stays identical to that of the 208/230 V model: same net cooling, same EER and IEER ratings, same airflow.

One point deserves your attention: this unit is meant for human comfort. For a process application, such as a server room or an electrical room, YORK recommends consulting its applications department. We take that step for you when your project comes close to it.

A single cabinet on the roof, the plant floor stays clear

The packaged heat pump brings together in one outdoor cabinet everything a split system spreads between the indoor and the outdoor side: compressors, coils, fans and control. Installed on a roof curb, a pad or a steel structure, it feeds the ducts that serve your offices or your work area, and it provides both cooling and heat pump heating. No equipment clutters the production floor, and all the work is done outside.

The unit arrives charged with R-410A, wired, piped and factory tested. This previous-generation refrigerant is a proven technology, well known to refrigeration technicians.

The configuration as delivered

The XP090C00R5B1BAA1A2 model includes an IntelliSpeed variable-speed drive with a high static pressure drive, an economizer with a barometric relief damper, a phase monitor, the stand-alone Smart Equipment control and standard coils. It has no factory service option (no disconnect switch and no convenience receptacle) and no factory-installed electric heat: the disconnect switch and, if needed, the heat kit are added in the field. It ships with 2 in. disposable filters.

A build made for an industrial roof

Before leaving the factory, every Sun Pro unit goes through computer-automated tests: refrigerant charge and pressure, electrical current and full operation. The galvanized steel cabinet receives a powder paint that has passed a 750 hour salt spray test, and the full perimeter base rails protect the unit during transport and lifting, with forklift slots on three sides. Aluminum-faced and elastomeric rubber insulation, used throughout the cabinet, supports indoor air quality. Finally, the built-in low-ambient control keeps cooling down to 0 °F (-17.8 °C) outdoors, an advantage when equipment gives off heat in your offices or your control room in the middle of winter.

Our commissioning, step by step

  1. Check of the supply voltage within the 540 to 630 V range and of the phase order, watched by the phase monitor.
  2. Check of the clearances required by YORK: 72 in. clear above the unit, 36 in. on the front, back and left sides, and 12 in. on the right side.
  3. Adjustment of the belt drive and of the IntelliSpeed speeds to the actual static pressure of your ducts, to deliver the intended airflow.
  4. Setup of the economizer: changeover setpoint for free cooling mode and minimum fresh air position.
  5. Programming of the Smart Equipment control: thermostat or zone sensor, fan delays, compressor lockout on low outdoor temperature if needed.
  6. Extraction of the start-up report through the USB port and a walkthrough for your maintenance manager.

Planned maintenance suited to an industrial setting

Filters and air quality

The unit uses four 24 x 20 x 2 in. filters. In a dusty environment, 2 in. MERV 8 or 4 in. MERV 13 pleated filters can replace the disposable filters, and a dirty filter switch is available to signal an abnormal pressure drop.

Coils, fan and condensate

Service windows in the condenser walls allow the coils to be cleaned without heavy disassembly. The motor and fan assembly slides out of the cabinet, and the non-corrosive condensate pan is pulled out from the back. The hinged panels open without tools, then are screwed shut again after each visit to block access by unauthorized people.

Diagnostics

At every visit, we review the fault history recorded by the Smart Equipment board. Thanks to the two independent refrigerant circuits, a fault on one circuit locks out only the compressor tied to it, after three trips in two hours.

Accessories that earn their place in an industrial setting

  • Coil guard and hail guard kit.
  • Smoke detectors for the supply or return air.
  • CO2 sensor, which drives the economizer open when the level goes above the preset limit.
  • Burglar bars for the duct openings of the roof curb.
  • Roof curb of 8 in. or 14 in., or transition curb for an older Sunline unit of 7.5 to 12.5 tons.

Your industrial project in the hands of our teams

We start with a free on-site estimate, which surveys the loads, the condition of the ducts, the 575 V distribution and the access to the roof or to the pad. We confirm the sizing, plan the crane lift using the base rails with their lifting holes, install the unit with our own teams and carry out the commissioning described above. A planned maintenance contract then helps keep the unit reliable, season after season.
