GENERAL AIRSTAGE LPAS1 30 000 BTU wall-mounted heat pump throughout Greater Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, South Shore and North Shore
GENERAL AIRSTAGE LPAS1 30,000 BTU: the large renamed Fujitsu Wall-Mounted Heat Pump for a hair salon or a professional office in Saint-Léonard
A Saint-Léonard hair salon on a Saturday in July: the dryers are running, the lights are heating up, the door opens non-stop and the clientele waits under the fluorescent lights. An Anjou accountant's office in the thick of tax season: screens, people, a full waiting room. Those premises are not cooled with a bedroom unit, and it is for them that we propose the GENERAL AIRSTAGE LPAS1 30,000 BTU. It is, feature for feature, the Fujitsu AIRSTAGE LPAS1: indoor unit ASUH30LPAS, outdoor unit AOUH30LPAS1, AHRI certificate 207590836, the same values published by the manufacturer, the same warranty of 12 years on the compressor, 12 years on parts and 6 years on labour. Its manufacturer, Fujitsu General Limited, became GENERAL Inc. on January 1, 2026.
With 30,000 BTU in a single wall unit, this model covers a light commercial space in one open run: a salon floor, an open office area, a small shop. Its air conditioning posts a SEER2 of 18.0, and its heating, guaranteed down to −15 °C, still delivers 24,000 BTU/h at that temperature, 80% of its nominal size, enough to take on a large share of the premises' heating in mid-season while the building's system rests.
This page is addressed to the commercial owner or tenant who wants comfortable premises for their clientele and staff, installed in one day, without ductwork, without touching the building's heating system.
GENERAL or Fujitsu AIRSTAGE: the same machine
The name change comes from an acquisition. In August 2025, Paloma Rheem Holdings, owner of Rheem since 1988, bought Fujitsu General; on January 1, 2026, Fujitsu General Limited became GENERAL Inc. The head office and the research and development centre remain in Kawasaki, Japan, the factories are the same, and so are the AIRSTAGE products, the model numbers and the warranty program. The GENERAL trademark has been in use since 1946, and the company, founded in 1936, celebrates the 90th anniversary of its founding in 2026. For Canada, Rheem Canada has handled sales since February 2026; Groupe Master remains our distributor and AirGreen remains an AIRSTAGE Elite Plus installer.
During the transition, the same heat pump arrives with the Fujitsu logo or with the GENERAL logo depending on the batch. For a merchant comparing quotes, that is a needless source of confusion, which is why we publish both pages with the table below: the GENERAL column and the Fujitsu column say the same thing, value by value.

What 30,000 BTU does in commercial premises. Commercial premises have loads a house does not: people, lighting, equipment, the storefront in the sun and the door that keeps opening. The SEER2 of 18.0 measures seasonal cooling efficiency, the heat removed from the premises per unit of electricity over the whole summer; the EER2 of 9.8 gives the same measure at the hottest point of the afternoon, when a salon is full and the unit works hardest. Concretely, a single 30,000 BTU wall unit holds the temperature of a light commercial space in one open run, provided it is placed so that its air stream covers the full length of the premises, and it pulls out the humidity from the sinks and the dryers along the way.
Heating down to −15 °C, manufacturer's figures. The heating values are those the manufacturer publishes. At −8 °C, the LPAS1 delivers 19,400 BTU/h; at −15 °C, its certified heating capacity is 24,000 BTU/h, 80% of its nominal size, with a COP of 1.80: nearly two units of heat per unit of electricity, where a baseboard or an electric unit heater returns a single one. Its heating is guaranteed down to −15 °C; below that, the building's heating takes over, as it already does. For a business, that means mornings from October to April when the heat pump heats the premises at lower cost before opening, and a main system that only kicks in at the coldest. The HSPF2 of 9.8 sums up that efficiency over the entire heating season, heat delivered divided by electricity consumed.
Noise, placement and clientele. A 30,000 BTU unit moves a lot of air, and you can hear it: the indoor unit runs between 32 and 50 dB(A) depending on speed. In a hair salon, where the dryers cover everything, it is of no consequence; in a professional office, we place it away from the workstations and we set a lower speed for consultation hours. The outdoor unit sits at 54 dB(A): on a flat roof, at the back of a strip-mall unit or on an alley wall, away from neighbouring homes, with the building owner's agreement. Wi-Fi is offered as an option, and for a business it is worth considering: start the air conditioning before the staff arrives, check the premises on Sunday, turn down the heating at night, all from the manager's phone.
The installation in commercial premises. The indoor unit measures over 45 in wide and the outdoor unit 37 in wide by 31 in high; the refrigerant line is 3/8 and 5/8 in. Our refrigeration technicians organize the day around your opening hours:
- The visit: floor area, ceiling height, storefront, number of stations and appliances, busy hours; we confirm that 30,000 BTU is the right capacity for the premises.
- The wall unit: high up, on a wall facing the length of the premises, anchored into a structure able to carry its weight, away from doors and heat sources.
- The outdoor unit: on the roof, on a ground pad or on a wall bracket sized for it, with the clearance needed for air and defrost, and a line route that respects the building.
- The refrigerant line: insulated 3/8 and 5/8 in copper in a line cover, the shortest route possible, often through the suspended ceiling.
- Drainage: by gravity when possible; in commercial premises, a condensate pump is common, and it is planned at quote time.
- Electrical and commissioning: a dedicated 208/230 V circuit, connected by a licensed electrician after checking the premises' electrical distribution, then nitrogen leak test, vacuum, start-up and supply-air temperature check.
Maintenance and indoor filters in a business. A hair salon produces cut hair, hairspray and dust; an office, paper dust. The indoor filters pull out by hand, rinse under water and go back in once dry, and in a business this step is done more often than at home to keep the airflow and the efficiency. The annual service by a refrigeration technician checks the R-410A refrigerant charge, cleans the coil, the pan and the drain, and checks the connections; we schedule it outside your busy hours, with the same parts as on the Fujitsu version.
Grant and certifications. The LPAS1 30,000 BTU is not ENERGY STAR certified and is not on the list of heat pumps eligible for Hydro-Québec's LogisVert program according to the list of October 27, 2026. We promise you no amount for this model; if there is assistance applicable to your premises, we will verify it at quote time, not before.
Who this model is for. The hair or beauty salon in Saint-Léonard, the accountant's, notary's or dentist's office in Anjou, the small strip-mall shop or a clinic's waiting room: premises in one open run, with people and equipment, that a single wall unit can cover without ductwork. For premises partitioned into several rooms, it is a multi-zone system you need to look at; for a very large floor, two wall units or a ducted unit; we will tell you which after seeing the place.
