This modulation range deserves particular attention. An inverter heat pump is not a unit that constantly operates at exactly 6,000 BTU. It adjusts its output according to demand. In a small bedroom that is gradually approaching the set temperature, the compressor can reduce its speed rather than simply stopping and restarting constantly.

For homeowners, these figures are mainly useful for comparing units with similar capacities. SEER2 represents seasonal cooling efficiency, while HSPF2 concerns heating.   • their orientation;
  • insulation quality;
  • the floor where the room is located;
  • exterior-facing walls;
  • air infiltration;
  • air circulation toward adjacent rooms;
  • actual space usage.

A well-insulated 180 sq. ft. bedroom in a recent construction does not necessarily have the same needs as a room of the same size located on the top floor of an older building with a large south-facing window.

It is also a mistake to consider a 6,000 BTU heat pump an automatic solution for an open-plan space simply because its maximum cooling capacity can temporarily rise far above 6,000 BTU.

The official cooling range is 2,300 to 12,600 BTU/h, while the heating range is 3,000 to 11,000 BTU/h.

This is an important advantage in a small room.

This version uses R-454B refrigerant. The manufacturer indicates a charge of 32.45 oz and a factory charge intended for piping up to 25 feet.

The AirGreen specifications indicate 1/4 in – 3/8 in piping.

This is essential information when replacing an existing heat pump. We never assume that old piping can automatically be reused because it “looks like” the new one. Its diameter, condition, routing, and compatibility must be verified.

Senville's documentation also specifies that a 50-foot configuration requires an additional amount of refrigerant to be added on site by the installer.

A relatively light electrical supply: MCA 12 A and maximum protection of 15 A

For this unit, the technical documentation provides:

In cooling mode, comfort depends not only on temperature. In Montreal and the greater metropolitan area, hot periods can also be very humid.

The technical specifications indicate a moisture-removal capacity of 0.3 L/h.

Three mistakes we want to avoid with a 6,000 BTU heat pump

1. Choosing 6,000 BTU for a room that is far too large

The small capacity is an advantage when it genuinely matches the needs. It becomes a problem when attempting to cool a large open area, several rooms, or an entire floor with a single unit designed for a limited area.

In this case, the unit may operate continuously at high capacity without evenly reaching the desired temperature.

2. Installing the unit in the wrong location

A maximum airflow of 382.6 CFM can be very comfortable when the air is distributed properly, but much less pleasant when it blows directly onto the bed, sofa, or desk.

We therefore consider the room’s layout, not just where it is physically easiest to run the piping.

3. Neglecting drainage

In cooling and dehumidification mode, the indoor unit produces condensate. The drain must be installed with an appropriate slope when gravity drainage is used.

An installation that works perfectly on the day it is commissioned can become problematic if the drainage was poorly planned.

An example of a configuration in which this SENVILLE AURA truly makes sense

A common scenario in Greater Montreal is a bedroom or enclosed office of approximately 150 to 220 sq. ft. that becomes noticeably warmer in summer than the rest of the property.

Automatically installing a 12,000 BTU heat pump in this type of room may be excessive. The SENVILLE AURA 6,000 BTU, on the other hand, offers a particularly useful modulation range for maintaining a small area at a stable temperature.

In a bedroom, the minimum sound level of 22 dB(A) is also a practical advantage.

In an office, Wi-Fi, inverter modulation, and independent temperature control tend to become the priorities.

Down to -30 °C, but with capacity decreasing in extreme cold

The manufacturer's documentation confirms a minimum heating temperature of -22 °F / -30 °C.

The Senville documentation supplied with the product, for its part, states 10 years on the compressor and 5 years on parts.

Because conditions may vary depending on the applicable program, registration, distribution channel, or commercial terms in effect, we recommend confirming the exact warranty that will appear on your AirGreen quote at the time of purchase.

This verification prevents comparing two heat pumps based on a warranty that would not actually apply to the project in question.
