The brochure recommends the model for spaces of approximately 100 to 450 sq. ft., including small rooms and studios.
However, this range should not be applied mechanically.
A 350 sq. ft. room in a recent construction in Boucherville may require less heating than a 250 sq. ft. space in an older building in Montréal, depending on:

- windows;
- airtightness;
- floor;
- orientation;
- ceiling height;
- the presence of exterior walls;
- sun exposure;

A noteworthy figure at -15 °C
The AirGreen specifications sheet indicates:

- 13,500 BTU/h at -15 °C
- 7,500 BTU/h maximum at -30 °C
The capacity listed at -15 °C is particularly interesting, reaching 13,500 BTU/h, which is higher than the 9,000 BTUs associated with the nominal cooling capacity.
The manufacturer’s brochure confirms that the system can operate in heating mode down to -30 °C / -22 °F.
This helps clarify an important nuance.
A wall-mounted heat pump may carry a “9,000 BTU” label while offering significantly different heating capacity depending on outdoor conditions and how the manufacturer defines its rated capacity.
At -30 °C, the heat pump continues to heat, but at a reduced capacity
On the AirGreen specifications sheet, the maximum capacity listed at -30 °C is 7,500 BTU/h.
It would therefore be inaccurate to interpret “heating down to -30 °C” as “12,000 or 13,500 BTUs available down to -30 °C.”
When the outdoor temperature becomes extremely low, a heat pump’s capacity decreases. This point is particularly important for homes in Greater Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, the North Shore, and the South Shore.
If the room loses more heat than the heat pump can provide at that temperature, a supplementary heating source may become necessary.

Outdoors, a unit weighing nearly 100 lb requires suitable fastening or support.
Installation, R-454B, connectivity, and maintenance: what we look at before recommending the SENVILLE ELITE
R-454B and a factory charge intended for 25 feet
The SENE-09EL uses R-454B refrigerant.
The documentation indicates a charge of 44.09 oz and a factory charge intended for piping up to 25 feet.
Senville also specifies that with a 50-foot line set, additional refrigerant must be added on site by the installer.
This information is particularly important when a homeowner wants to move the outdoor unit farther away for aesthetic or acoustic reasons.
The actual refrigerant line length must be calculated before work begins.
1/4 in – 3/8 in piping: essential to verify when replacing the unit
The AirGreen product sheet indicates 1/4 in – 3/8 in piping.
In a replacement project, keeping the old piping may seem appealing to avoid opening walls or redoing line-hide covers.
At AirGreen, however, we must first check:
- the existing diameter;
- the condition of the copper;
- the length;
- the refrigerant type of the previous system;
- the route;
- the cleaning or replacement requirements;
- the specifications applicable to the new system.
A high-performance heat pump also depends on the quality of its refrigeration circuit.
MCA of only 3 A, but maximum protection of 20 A
The documentation indicates a minimum circuit ampacity of 3.0 A and a maximum fuse of 20 A. The specified connection wiring is 14/4 AWG.

These data must be interpreted correctly during electrical work.
The MCA does not mean that it is sufficient to connect the unit to just any circuit. The protection, wiring, disconnect switch, and installation method must comply with the specifications of the equipment actually delivered and the applicable requirements.

The SENVILLE ELITE is compatible with Alexa and app control.
The documentation indicates that it is possible to change the setpoint, schedule operating times, and manage the system remotely.

A 12,000- or 18,000-BTU heat pump could work, but more capacity does not necessarily mean greater comfort.
