Precision intervention in a complex space
At AirGreen , we recently responded to an HVAC service call in Sainte-Julie , on Montreal's South Shore, for a Fujitsu wall-mounted heat pump installed high up in a narrow, double-glazed space. The customer, in the middle of an interior renovation, had noticed that the indoor unit had not been producing hot air for several days, despite a request from the thermostat.
This situation required a meticulous and secure intervention , given the positioning of the unit: at the top of a wall overlooking a large window, with limited access and temporary scaffolding still in place outside.
Diagnosis: A faulty internal temperature sensor
Upon our arrival, we carried out a complete inspection of the Fujitsu system :
-
Checking the interior airflow and fan.
-
Check electrical voltage and wiring.
-
Reading error codes on the electronic board.
The diagnosis revealed a faulty indoor temperature sensor , preventing the unit from regulating the heating control. This failure is common after several years of continuous use, especially in renovation environments where dust can infiltrate the system.
Repair and replacement of the part
To carry out the repair, our team:
-
Cut off the power supply and secure the intervention area.
-
Removed the front cover of the Fujitsu heat pump.
-
Replaced the temperature sensor with a genuine Fujitsu part, ensuring perfect compatibility.
-
Cleaned the evaporator fins to improve heat exchange.
-
Tested the complete system in heating and cooling modes.
The complex access at height required the use of a lightweight interior scaffold , carefully positioned to avoid any pressure on the wall structure and the windows.
Result: restored performance and comfort regained
After replacing the sensor and a complete operational test, the wall-mounted heat pump was back to full efficiency . The unit was once again blowing stable hot air, with precise and quiet temperature control.
The client was able to resume finishing work without interruption, reassured to know that their HVAC system is now reliable to face the coming winter months.
