The turbine was thoroughly cleaned in accessible areas. Deposits on the fins were removed to restore rotational balance and improve the volume of air projected. After this step, the operating noise was already more consistent.

Tray cleaning and condensate line clearing

The condensate tray was cleaned, then the drain line was cleared. We also replaced a small drainage fitting that showed signs of wear and was contributing to the slow flow. Once the drain was restored, we performed a water flow test to confirm that the drainage was working without backup.

Outdoor unit inspection

Even though the main problem was inside, we also checked the outdoor unit’s behavior. The fan started normally, no abnormal noise was observed, and the signs of refrigerant circuit operation were consistent with a heat pump in service. No replacement of compressor, control board, or outdoor motor was required.

Result: a quieter unit, better air projection, and a leak eliminated

After reassembly, we restarted the heat pump and performed a full test. The difference was clear: the airflow was stronger, the air output more consistent, the fan noise more stable, and the condensate flow smooth. The part started cooling faster again, without water accumulating in the tray.

The customer mainly noticed two immediate improvements: the air was projected further into the room, and the musty smell at startup had disappeared. We let the device run long enough to confirm the drain was evacuating properly and the intermittent leak did not return.
