An elegant and efficient installation on a typical Montreal brick facade
At AirGreen , we recently installed a Gree wall-mounted heat pump on the facade of a brick building in Montreal's Le Sud-Ouest district. This area, known for its heritage buildings and modern renovations, requires special attention when it comes to integrating an HVAC system that is both efficient and aesthetically discreet.
A demanding urban context
The project took place in a condo located on the ground floor of an old brick building. The main challenge was to install the outdoor condenser without altering the character of the masonry wall while respecting safety and performance standards. The space available on the rear terrace offered an ideal solution, but required precise mounting to ensure good air circulation and optimal condensate drainage.
Technical details of the installation
We chose a Gree wall-mounted heat pump , known for its reliability, quiet operation, and ability to maintain comfort even during harsh Montreal winters. The outdoor unit, securely mounted on sturdy wall brackets , is connected to the indoor head via carefully ducted wiring and conduits to match the building's red brick.
The installation includes:
-
A short and direct refrigerant line route , limiting efficiency losses;
-
Gravity drainage ensuring the natural evacuation of condensates;
-
A light beige protective capping , discreet on the wall;
-
A dedicated power supply , compliant with the requirements of the manufacturer Gree.
Performance and energy savings
Gree R-32 wall-mounted heat pumps are distinguished by their high energy efficiency and their compatibility with grant programs offered in Quebec. This model, optimized for temperatures down to −25°C, offers a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) greater than 20 , guaranteeing substantial savings on heating and cooling costs .
Aesthetic integration and sustainability
The owner wanted a modern system without compromising the exterior appearance of his home. Thanks to careful planning and our experience in masonry buildings, we were able to achieve an installation that was perfectly integrated into the facade , without impacting the existing structure.
Anti-vibration mounts and strategic positioning of the unit ensure quiet operation , essential in dense urban environments like the Southwest.
Tailor-made comfort from AirGreen
Each AirGreen project is based on a personalized study of the client's location and needs. In this case, the Gree heat pump now helps maintain a stable indoor temperature throughout the year, while optimizing electricity consumption.
Our team has ensured that the system operates in full compliance with the manufacturer's standards and AirGreen quality standards:
-
Complete system test after start-up;
-
Checking pressures and sealing;
-
Remote control calibration and comfort settings.
