Exceptional Air Conditioning Installation: Tosot LomoPlus UltraHeat in Boucherville

Powerful, Efficient, and Ready for Canadian Winters

In Boucherville, a city known for its chilly winters and humid summers, keeping homes comfortable year-round is a must. That’s why we at AirGreen were thrilled to install the Tosot LomoPlus UltraHeat wall-mounted air conditioner for our client in this scenic location. This 18,000 BTU powerhouse is built to perform under the harshest weather conditions, making it ideal for both cooling during hot summer days and heating in the dead of winter when temperatures drop to as low as -30°C.

Why the Tosot LomoPlus UltraHeat Stands Out

The Tosot LomoPlus UltraHeat isn’t your average air conditioning unit. Known for its high efficiency and durability, this model combines exceptional cooling and heating capabilities with modern technology. It’s rated Energy Star® and comes with a remarkable 24.5 SEER efficiency rating, ensuring our client in Boucherville can enjoy consistent comfort without a huge spike in their energy bills. Plus, this model is equipped with WiFi capability, allowing remote control from anywhere, adding convenience to its long list of features.

Installation Details – Crafting Comfort for Every Corner

Our team completed this installation with meticulous attention to detail. The indoor unit, with dimensions of 43.3 x 9.8 x 12.8 inches, was strategically placed to ensure optimal airflow throughout the room. Meanwhile, the outdoor unit, sized at 38.5 x 16.8 x 31.1 inches, was carefully positioned to minimize noise and maintain the aesthetic of the property. With an indoor sound pressure level ranging from 34 to 51 dB(A) and an outdoor level at 59.0 dB(A), this system is whisper-quiet—ideal for peaceful living without distractions.

Cutting-Edge Features of the Tosot LomoPlus UltraHeat

  • Two-Stage Compressor: This advanced feature ensures that the unit operates efficiently in both mild and extreme temperatures, maintaining up to 80% heating capacity even at -30°C.
  • Intelligent Defrost: The defrosting system activates only when needed, helping to maximize energy savings and prevent unnecessary operation.
  • Memory Function: In the event of a power outage, the system restarts with its previous settings, ensuring a seamless experience for the user.
  • I Feel Mode: The remote control can detect room temperature, adjusting cooling and heating based on where the remote is, not just where the indoor unit is installed.
  • Turbo Mode: For those times when you need quick temperature adjustments, Turbo Mode rapidly increases airflow to reach your desired comfort level faster.

Taking Advantage of Hydro-Québec’s LogisVert Grant

As part of our commitment to providing value to our clients, we made sure the homeowner was aware of the $1,704 LogisVert Grant from Hydro-Québec for which this unit qualifies. This grant is available for energy-efficient installations, helping homeowners offset the initial investment and enjoy long-term savings on energy costs.

Long-Lasting Peace of Mind with Extended Warranty

The Tosot LomoPlus UltraHeat comes with an industry-leading warranty: 10 years on the compressor and parts. For those who prefer extra assurance, an extended 10-year labor warranty is also available. At AirGreen, we believe in delivering not only quality installations but also lasting support for our customers. This extended warranty provides peace of mind, knowing that their investment is protected for the next decade.

The Installation Journey: How We Made It Happen

This installation was no ordinary project. We started by assessing the home’s layout, ensuring that every corner would benefit from the Tosot LomoPlus UltraHeat’s powerful airflow. Once the planning phase was complete, we mounted the indoor unit in a central location, allowing for effective air distribution. The outdoor unit, meanwhile, was installed on a stable base, with careful attention to vibration reduction and aesthetic appeal.

We then connected the units with durable piping, using a 1/4 - 5/8 pipe size to guarantee optimal refrigerant flow. Finally, we tested the system, verifying its efficiency and fine-tuning settings to ensure our client could enjoy immediate comfort as soon as we left.

Efficient, Quiet, and Environmentally Friendly

One standout feature of the Tosot LomoPlus UltraHeat is its eco-friendly R-410A refrigerant. Unlike older refrigerants, R-410A has a lower environmental impact, aligning with our commitment to sustainable HVAC solutions. Additionally, the low sound levels mean that this unit operates almost silently, blending seamlessly into our client's home life without any disruptive noise.

Advanced Technology for Total Control

This model’s WiFi compatibility allows homeowners to control the system directly from their smartphones. Imagine being able to turn on the heating during a snowy commute, so your home is warm by the time you walk in the door. It’s not just a feature; it’s a lifestyle improvement, making life in Boucherville a little bit easier and more comfortable.

At AirGreen, our goal is simple: to bring top-tier comfort solutions to Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, and the North and South Shores. What we check on a job like this one

Each number is a point we check on site. Switch between summer and winter to watch air and heat move.

In summer, the outdoor unit rejects the house's heat outside.

    1. Mounted level on a wall plate, high enough for the air to reach the whole room, with enough space around it to slide the filters out easily.

    2. The refrigerant lines, the communication cable and the drain go through the wall in a single opening, sealed against water, cold air and insects.

    3. Two insulated copper pipes connect the two units. Outside, a line cover can protect them from sun, knocks and weather.

    4. A shut-off switch near the outdoor unit isolates it safely for service. It must stay accessible at all times.

    5. The compressor and the fan. In heating mode it captures heat from the outdoor air, even in winter, and moves it inside.

    6. On the ground or on the wall, it keeps the unit above accumulated snow. The unit stays clear and defrost water can drain away.

    7. The fan needs to blow freely. Storage, a fence or a wall too close, and efficiency drops while noise goes up.

    True or false

    Four statements: true or false?

It all comes down to details you have just seen.

    1. In heating mode, the outdoor unit can produce water.

    2. You pick the capacity with a simple square-footage rule.

    3. A multi-zone connects several indoor heads to a single condenser.

    4. The disconnect can sit behind the patio furniture.

    Frequently asked questions

What people ask us about this kind of work

    12 questions
Does a wall-mounted heat pump heat in winter?
Yes, it heats and cools. Its capacity drops in very cold weather; the operating range depends on the model and is listed on its spec sheet.
    Wall-mounted or multi-zone: how do I choose?
One wall head and one condenser outside: the direct solution for a room or an open area. For two to five rooms, a multi-zone puts one head in each room on a single condenser.
Where does the outdoor unit go?
Where it stays above the snow, clear and accessible, away from walkways. We decide it with you during the estimate.
    Are there grants?
Depending on the model and your situation, assistance programs may apply, including Hydro-Québec's LogisVert. AirGreen checks the model number before quoting an amount. See the grants.
    Do I need a permit?
Rules vary from city to city: location, distances, noise. See permits and by-laws, and we check for your address.
    How cold can it heat?
It depends on the model. According to Hydro-Québec, newer models work down to a temperature between −15 °C and −25 °C, and some cold-climate models are certified lower. The minimum temperature is on each unit's spec sheet.
    How much can I save?
Hydro-Québec says a heat pump can be up to three times more efficient than baseboards for heating in the colder months. The result depends on the house, the climate and how it is used.
How is the LogisVert assistance calculated?
For ENERGY STAR cold-climate certified heat pumps, Hydro-Québec lists assistance of $120 per 1,000 BTU/h of heating capacity at −8 °C. AirGreen checks the exact model before quoting an amount; only Hydro-Québec confirms the assistance granted. See the grants.
    Is it noisy?
The sound level depends on the model and is listed in decibels on each unit's spec sheet. Location matters too: when possible, we avoid putting the outdoor unit under a bedroom window.
The outdoor unit is covered in ice: is that normal?
Some frost is: the unit runs defrost cycles. Never hit the ice. If the unit stays iced up or stops heating, call us.
Does AirGreen hold the required licences?
Yes. AirGreen holds RBQ licence 5645-9605-01, subclasses 15.8 Ventilation, 15.10 Refrigeration and 16 Electricity.
    Is the estimate free?
Yes. The on-site estimate is free and the quote follows within 24 hours. Book my free estimate.
