effiQueenc 5-ton split air-to-water heat pump
EFFI-060-O + EFFI-060-I
- Panasonic DC Inverter EVI twin-rotor compressor
- Indoor hydrobox: no glycol in the loop, per the manufacturer
- Outdoor unit at 50 dB(A)
- Heating, cooling and domestic hot water

effiQueenc is a Québec maker of hydronic systems, based in Saint-Jules. At AirGreen, two 5-ton R-410A air-to-water heat pumps: the split (outdoor unit plus an indoor hydrobox) and the monobloc (all the refrigerant stays outside). Both run down to -30 °C according to the manufacturer, and both heat the house through water.

Split: the refrigerant travels to the hydrobox inside the house, over 35 ft at most according to effiQueenc. The water never goes outside.
Same size, same refrigerant, same cold limit. What changes is where the water gets heated: inside the house with the split, outside with the monobloc.

Output, BTU/h conversion and noise: the values effiQueenc publishes, side by side so the difference shows at a glance.
The black tick marks the split’s nominal value. For split cooling, the web page and the brochure give different ranges.
Values published by the manufacturer, in dB(A).
effiQueenc publishes in kW; in Québec people often talk in BTU/h and tons.
“5 tons” is the manufacturer’s designation (5 × 12,000 = 60,000 BTU/h). The published nominal heating of the split is 17 kW.
Conversions: 1 kW = 3,412 BTU/h; 1 ton = 12,000 BTU/h; 1 ton of refrigeration = 3.517 kW. The monobloc’s cooling range is published in tons of refrigeration (1.8 to 4.7) and converted here to kW.
effiQueenc designs air-to-water heat pumps for our winters. AirGreen comes to see the house, picks the split or the monobloc with you, and installs it. Each does what it does best.

The result: the right effiQueenc for your house, chosen with you and installed by AirGreen.
Every answer relies on what the manufacturer publishes for these two models. Nothing to fill in, nothing is sent.
35 ft or less: both models remain possible.
An air-to-water heat pump does not blow air into the house. It heats water, and that water heats the rooms.
The outdoor unit pulls heat from the air, even in deep cold: down to -30 °C per effiQueenc.
In the split’s indoor hydrobox, or directly in the monobloc, outside.
effiQueenc recommends its energy-storage tank to boost the performance of most hydronic systems.
The hot water flows to the radiant floor, the radiators or fan coils.
The manufacturer publishes two different ranges: its web page and its 2021 brochure. Both stop at 55 °C for heating.
