The thermometer

Drop the temperature: the EXTRÊME R410A against the cold, and its successor next to it.

Certified heating capacities (NEEP) at −8 °C, at −15 °C and at the coldest certified point, from each product page. The COP tells you how many kWh of heat you get for 1 kWh of electricity: a baseboard gives 1.

R410A → R-32

The EXTRÊME R410A ran on R410A. Today’s GREE wall units run on R-32.

The global warming potential (GWP) compares a refrigerant with CO₂ if it leaks: CO₂ = 1. R‑410A is a 50/50 blend of HFC-32 and HFC-125.

About 3× lower warming potential for R‑32.

Its successor on our site: EXTRÊME R32. The thermometer above compares them at the same capacity.

Sources: HFC-32 = 675 (Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act, Schedule 3); R-410A = 2,100 and 50/50 composition (Arkema Forane 410A specification sheet).
