Quick facts
A 72 kW electric boiler that connects directly to 600 V three-phase
Who the BTHULTXL60072 is for
In Quebec, many commercial buildings and apartment buildings run on 600 V three-phase. Thermo 2000’s BTH Ultra XL, in its BTHULTXL60072 version, connects to that voltage without a step-down transformer. Its twelve 6 kW elements run on 347 V and deliver 72 kW, or 245,664 BTU/h, drawing 69.3 A at full output according to the manufacturer.
It is a hot-water boiler: it heats a closed loop that feeds radiant floors, radiators or hydronic fan coils. It suits a manager replacing an electric boiler at the end of its life, as well as an owner adding an air-to-water heat pump or a geothermal system who wants reliable electric backup. Thermo 2000 presents it precisely as a backup boiler for a heat pump, geothermal or solar system.
How it fits your building
The T2 UltraSmart controller is the heart of the unit. The supplied outdoor sensor lets it adjust water temperature to the weather: the colder it is outside, the hotter the water, and heating stops in mild weather below a threshold adjustable from 0 to 105 °F. Output is modulated to demand over four stages, so the full 72 kW is not called when a fraction will do. A Boost mode, a pump purge and a backlit display round it out.
As for space, the steel cabinet is 23 3/8 in wide, 12 3/4 in deep and 23 1/4 in high and weighs 180 lb. It mounts on the wall or sits on an optional floor stand. Water connections are 1 1/2 in male NPT; maximum working pressure is 30 psi (207 kPa) and the water is set between 50 °F and 190 °F.
What AirGreen’s installation covers
We start with a free on-site estimate, in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, on the South Shore or the North Shore. We assess the heating load, the 600 V electrical service, the existing loop and the location. The written quote specifies the supply sizing, the loop components and the commissioning steps.
On installation, the unit is set in place and connected to the hot-water loop. The items supplied by Thermo 2000 are installed: 30 psi relief valve (ASME), drain valve, temperature and pressure gauge and outdoor sensor. The 600 V electrical connection is made by qualified personnel, to the codes in force. We fill the loop, purge it, test the low-water cut-off and program the controller for your building.
A family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years, AirGreen holds RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 (ventilation, refrigeration and electrical). The manufacturer warranty covers the tank for 10 years (limited warranty, closed-loop heating) and electrical and mechanical components for 2 years.

The central boiler of a building or business on 600 V
Connected directly to a 600 V three-phase service, the BTHULTXL60072 heats the hot-water loop of a commercial building or an apartment building. Thermo 2000 also designs it as backup for a heat pump, geothermal or solar system.
- Commercial buildings with a 600 V three-phase electrical service
- Apartment buildings with central hot-water heating
- Electric backup for a geothermal or air-to-water heat pump project
- Replacing an electric boiler at the end of its life, in the same spot

Frequently asked questions
What current should the panel be ready for?
Thermo 2000 gives 69.3 A at full output on 600 V three-phase, and a maximum supply wire gauge of 2/0. Breaker and wire sizes are set according to the codes in force; we confirm them in the quote.
Is there a 480 V version?
Yes, Thermo 2000 also offers the 72 kW BTH Ultra XL in 480 V three-phase. The voltage must match the building’s electrical service: we check it during the free estimate.
How hot can the water be heated?
The published setting range runs from 50 °F to 190 °F. With the outdoor sensor, the controller lowers water temperature when it is milder and shuts heating off below the set threshold.
What happens if the loop runs low on water?
The boiler has a built-in low-water cut-off, with test button and indicator lights, that stops the elements if the water level is too low.
Does it have to sit on the floor?
No. It mounts on the wall; Thermo 2000 also offers an optional floor stand. It weighs 180 lb.
