Wall Controller GENERAL AIRSTAGE KAGAMI UTY-RVRU | Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, South Shore & North Shore
The GENERAL AIRSTAGE KAGAMI UTY-RVRU wall controller was designed to be something you want to leave in plain view.
Quick facts
The GENERAL AIRSTAGE KAGAMI UTY-RVRU wall controller and its Fujitsu AIRSTAGE version are one and the same part: same housing, same screen, same model number. Only the label has changed: Fujitsu General Limited has been called GENERAL Inc. since January 1, 2026. Beyond that, this is a control you have no desire to hide behind a door: a square, backlit 4-inch colour touch screen that you swipe with a fingertip like a cell phone, and an LED ring that sums up the system's status at a glance. Blue, the unit is cooling; red, it is heating; green, it is dehumidifying; purple, it is running in automatic mode. Among AIRSTAGE wired controllers, it is the most refined, and it is meant for owners who want to trade the infrared remote for an elegant, precise wall control.
The name change follows the manufacturer's acquisition by Paloma Rheem Holdings. The factories, the AIRSTAGE products and the model numbers have not moved; the Fujitsu brand is simply giving way to GENERAL, and during the transition the part is sold under both names. The GENERAL version and the same part under the Fujitsu AIRSTAGE brand are both available from AirGreen, an authorized GENERAL and Fujitsu AIRSTAGE dealer.
A premium wired control for 2-wire AIRSTAGE equipment
The KAGAMI connects to 2-wire AIRSTAGE H-Series indoor units, whether a wall-mounted heat pump, a slim duct unit, a cassette or a medium static pressure unit. It also runs DRV (VRF) systems in the J and V series. In a house as in a business or a small building, you keep the same control from one room to the next. A single KAGAMI can govern up to 16 indoor units set together.
One point needs spelling out for wall-mounted units (wall mini split): the 2-wire controller only connects to them through the UTY-TWRXZ2 communication kit, sold separately. Before placing the order, our technicians check the exact model of your indoor unit, so that everything arrives at the same time, kit included.
Power and wiring
No battery to change, no transformer to tuck into the wall: the KAGAMI draws its power from the indoor unit, at 12 VDC (83 mA), through the 2-wire remote control interface. All it takes is an unshielded 2-conductor stranded cable, 16 to 22 AWG. A wire this thin slips easily into a partition, a ceiling or a moulding, which leaves you free to choose the location: the controller goes where it is actually useful, not necessarily next to the unit.
Everything you can set on the screen
Day to day, the screen gives access to the mode, the setpoint and the ventilation, as well as the weekly timer and the automatic shutoff timer. The Custom Auto dual-setpoint mode holds two temperatures, one for heating and one for cooling, and the unit switches from one to the other as needed. In spring and fall, when a chilly morning comes before an almost summery afternoon, it is a feature people in Québec quickly come to appreciate.
The KAGAMI also handles emergency heat control and freeze protection, two features that come into their own in January, at a cottage or in premises where nobody comes by for days. When it is time to clean the filters, filter status monitoring reminds you; you then simply reset the indicator. The screen shows the room temperature, which can be corrected if needed, and it opens access to refrigeration cycle monitoring based on certain sensor values: a real time saver for diagnosis during a maintenance visit.
Bluetooth setup with AIRSTAGE Remo Set
Setup goes through Bluetooth Low Energy and the AIRSTAGE Remo Set app (iOS and Android): you pair the phone with the controller by scanning a QR code. This app is the commissioning and maintenance tool, with installer settings, unit parameters and service information. Keep in mind that the KAGAMI has no Wi-Fi, so it cannot be controlled remotely over the Internet. If you want to adjust the heat from the office or the cottage, we will show you the Wi-Fi modules compatible with your unit.

The KAGAMI among the other AIRSTAGE controllers
The manufacturer offers several wired controllers on the same 2-wire network. The UTY-RSRYZ1, narrow and fitted with a monochrome LCD, sticks to the essentials. The UTY-RNRUZ5, with its touch screen, is aimed first at building managers, with restricted access and standby functions. The KAGAMI, for its part, plays the card of the colour screen, navigation that you learn without trying, the status ring and its multiple finishes: it is the controller for living spaces, where looks count as much as function. Thanks to its hotel mode, which displays a custom logo and restricts the settings available to occupants, it also has its place in tourist accommodation and rental suites.
AirGreen installs and commissions your KAGAMI
Our technicians install the KAGAMI on new or existing AIRSTAGE equipment, whether it carries the GENERAL or the Fujitsu name. They first validate the indoor unit's compatibility, add the UTY-TWRXZ2 kit if it is a wall-mounted unit, run the 2-conductor cable and mount the controller at a height representative of the room. Configuration is then done in AIRSTAGE Remo Set. Before leaving, we program the weekly timer and the two Custom Auto setpoints with you, then enter our contact information in the contractor display: the day you need us, you will know who to call.
Saving in winter without giving up comfort
A heat pump gives its best service when it holds a steady temperature, rather than catching up on large swings. With the KAGAMI's weekly timer, you schedule moderate setbacks at night or during absences, without ever cutting the heat when the cold bites. At a cottage or in lightly used premises, freeze protection adds a safety margin.
Routine maintenance
When the controller flags it, clean the indoor unit's filters, then reset the indicator. For the screen, a soft, dry cloth is all you need, and the anti-fingerprint coating limits finger marks. At the annual visit, our technicians go over the refrigeration cycle monitoring data, and that is where a deviation in operation shows up.
