Three tons on R-454B: what sets it apart
Arcoaire offers several 3-ton air handlers. The D5FUHAH36XAK is the one for Crossover systems: it runs exclusively on R-454B, has a built-in refrigerant detection sensor and matches the D5CUHAH outdoor units. If you are starting fresh with a complete Crossover system, this is the cabinet that goes indoors.
It suits multi-storey homes, cottages and semi-detached homes whose ductwork serves several distant rooms. It does not replace an air handler connected to an outdoor unit that uses another refrigerant.
The cabinet is multiposition, which gives room to orient it according to the space available and the route of the existing ducts. Its refrigerant connections are 3/8 in for the liquid line and 3/4 in for suction.
Long duct runs, serious filtration
In a two-storey house, air has to travel long distances and pass through several elbows before reaching the bedrooms. Arcoaire presents the D5FUHAH as a high-static air handler, designed for those systems. At high speed, it moves 1,147.8 CFM under AHRI 210/240 rating conditions.
Filtration is another strength. The standard 4 in magnetic rack takes a 1, 2 or 4 in thick filter, up to 16 x 20 in. A thicker filter offers more filtering surface and usually needs replacing less often, an advantage for families with pets or homes near a busy road.
On noise, the manufacturer publishes 33 dB(A) at 1 m at low speed and 46.5 dB(A) at high speed. Finally, the cabinet accepts a 115 V or 208/230 V supply; we choose based on the capacity of your electrical panel.
Installation by AirGreen, step by step

They differ by refrigerant, width and motor. The D5FUHAH36XAK is the only one designed for R-454B; it is 17.52 in wide. Send us the model of your outdoor unit and we confirm the right air handler.
