6,900What it really delivers in cooling
The name says 7,000 BTU: that's the unit's size class. Amana publishes 6,900 BTU/h at 230 V, and 6,700 at 208 V, the supply in many buildings. Better to read it here than on the spec sheet after installation.
5,000 WThe heater that takes over
At Amana, the two digits after the series letter (the ** in PMH073J**AXXX) set the heater when ordering: 1.5, 2.5, 3.5 or 5.0 kW at 230 V, 1.3 to 4.1 kW at 208 V. At 5.0 kW it takes a 6-30P plug on 30 A; at 3.5 kW, a 6-20P on 20 A. It heats when the heat pump can no longer keep up.

The PMH is Amana's DigiAIR heat pump: a make-up air module brings in 25 to 35 cfm of outside air, depending on building pressure. That's what sets it apart from the PTH.
