208/230 V: an electrical detail to verify before ordering

This distinction is important for a commercial or multifamily project.

Before installation, we check the available voltage, the existing circuit, the receptacle type, the wiring gauge, and the condition of the old PTAC's electrical connection. Blindly reusing an existing power supply simply because an older unit was already installed in the same location can create unnecessary problems.

Therefore, this PTAC should not be presented as equivalent to a low-temperature heat pump designed to operate at -20 °C, -25 °C, or -30 °C.

For a small bedroom, 9,000 BTU may seem like an obvious capacity. However, two rooms with the same floor area can have very different heat loads.

Consider a typical scenario: two bedrooms of identical dimensions in the same building in Montréal. The first is on the north side, with a recent window and little sun exposure. The second is on the top floor, facing west, with a large window and an exterior wall heated by the sun at the end of the day.

Some people simply want each occupant to control their own unit. Others are looking for greater control, limitations, or smart features. These needs should be clarified before standardizing a model across multiple units.

For which projects is the SENPT-09AEN particularly well suited?

This model makes the most sense when the building is suited to the PTAC format.
