Quick facts
Central air conditioning for a furnace lying in the ceiling
In many homes and plexes, the electric furnace or air handler is installed horizontally, hung from the basement ceiling or slid into a crawl space to free up room. A vertical coil does not suit that layout. The Arcoaire ENH4X30L17A horizontal evaporator coil is designed for it: this 2.5-ton cased N coil connects to the right or left of the unit, depending on the direction the air exits. AirGreen installs it in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, on the South Shore and on the North Shore.
What it is and who it is for
The evaporator coil is the indoor part of a central air conditioning system. It receives refrigerant from the outdoor unit and cools the air the blower then pushes through the ducts. The ENH4X30L17A is aimed at owners whose heating unit lies on its side, whether they are adding air conditioning or replacing a horizontal coil of the same capacity. The 2.5-ton size is confirmed during the estimate, based on the house and the outdoor unit.
Arcoaire equips this model with a refrigerant-specific thermostatic expansion valve, factory installed. The coil hairpins are aluminum, a choice that, according to the manufacturer, resists pitting corrosion, and the condensate drain pan is corrosion resistant as well. For servicing, the coil slides out of the cabinet once the access door is removed.
In a home here
A horizontal installation needs room in front of the access door, a condensate drain with a continuous slope and a careful connection to the furnace. We check these three points during the visit. As with any coil sold alone, there is no efficiency rating of its own: performance depends on the matched outdoor unit and indoor unit, and the coil alone does not qualify for the LogisVert grant. Before ordering, we compare Arcoaire’s spec sheet with your outdoor unit’s nameplate to confirm the refrigerant, capacity and connections. This model is available while supplies last.
What the installation includes
AirGreen is a family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years. Our work is done under RBQ licence 5645-9605-01, which covers ventilation, refrigeration and electrical work. The installation includes checking the horizontal unit and the outdoor unit, setting the coil on the correct side, sealing it to the ducts, connecting the refrigerant lines with a leak test and evacuation, the condensate drain, then commissioning.
Arcoaire offers a 5-year parts limited warranty, extended by an additional 5-year parts limited warranty when the unit is registered on time, for the original purchaser.

The coil for systems lying on their side
The ENH4X30L17A connects to an electric furnace or air handler installed horizontally, whether the air exits to the right or to the left. Connected to the outdoor unit, it cools the air the blower pushes through the ducts.

Frequently asked questions
Can it be installed on an upright unit?
Arcoaire designs it for horizontal installation, connected to the right or left of the furnace. For an upright unit, we would offer a vertical or multipoise coil instead.
What equipment does it pair with?
An electric furnace or air handler lying horizontally, and an outdoor unit of matching capacity. We check the refrigerant and connections against Arcoaire’s spec sheet before ordering.
How is it serviced?
Simply remove the cabinet’s access door: the coil slides out, which makes inspection and cleaning easier.
What warranty does the manufacturer offer?
Arcoaire offers a 5-year parts limited warranty, plus an additional 5-year parts limited warranty with timely registration, for the original purchaser.
Does it qualify for the LogisVert grant?
No. Sold alone, a coil has no efficiency rating of its own and does not qualify.
