Four tons of cooling, even when the furnace lies on its side
A large home with a central system installed horizontally needs a coil designed for that position. The Arcoaire ENH4X48L21A horizontal evaporator coil is a 4-ton N coil, supplied with its cabinet and a factory-installed thermostatic expansion valve. It connects to the right or left of an electric furnace or air handler lying on its side. AirGreen installs it in Montreal, Laval and Longueuil, as well as on the North Shore and the South Shore.
A coil for large horizontal systems
Horizontal units are found in homes where the basement has been fully finished, in low-ceiling mechanical rooms and in some plexes where the furnace hangs from the ceiling. When the house needs 4 tons of cooling, the ENH4X48L21A lets you keep that layout. The size is always confirmed during the estimate: we assess the house and the outdoor unit before recommending it.
The checks before ordering
Arcoaire’s performance table presents this coil at 1,200, 1,600 and 2,000 CFM. The furnace blower must be able to deliver the chosen airflow, and the ducts must be able to carry it; that is the first point we examine. Next, we compare the manufacturer’s spec sheet with your outdoor unit’s nameplate to confirm the refrigerant, capacity and connections. Finally, we plan clear access in front of the cabinet door and a condensate drain with a continuous slope.
Like any coil sold alone, the ENH4X48L21A has no efficiency rating of its own: performance depends on the combination with the outdoor unit and the indoor unit. It therefore does not qualify for the LogisVert grant. This model is available while supplies last.
Servicing and warranty
Arcoaire thought about servicing: once the access door is removed, the coil slides out of the cabinet for inspection and cleaning. The coil hairpins are aluminum, which according to the manufacturer resists pitting corrosion, and the condensate drain pan is corrosion resistant too. On the warranty side, the manufacturer offers 5 years on parts, plus an additional 5 years on parts when the unit is registered on time, for the original purchaser. We give you the information needed to register.
