The "G" in PTHG0901GAA means a heater of up to 3.5 kW: 3,450 W at 230 V, 2,830 W at 208 V. It heats when the heat pump can no longer keep up. Trane rules out the 30 A cord on this size: it's 2.5 kW on 15 A or 3.5 kW on 20 A.
