A careful installation for tailor-made comfort in a Montreal triplex
At AirGreen , we are regularly called upon for complex HVAC installation projects in typical Montreal residential buildings. This time, our team traveled to the Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie neighborhood to install a Fujitsu MultiZone system , perfectly suited to a recently renovated triplex.
Project background
The owner wanted to modernize the thermal comfort of the three dwellings while minimizing energy consumption.
His goals were clear:
-
Provide independent temperature control on each floor.
-
Reduce exterior and interior noise.
-
Optimize space by avoiding bulky ducts.
Our solution: a highly energy-efficient Fujitsu MultiZone system , consisting of three indoor wall units connected to a single outdoor compressor.
Site survey and preparation
Before any installation, we carried out a complete analysis of the building configuration :
-
Checking load-bearing walls and brick structure.
-
Evaluation of the distance between the indoor units and the outdoor compressor.
-
Selecting the optimal route for passing copper pipes and electrical wiring .
This preliminary phase ensured an installation that was both aesthetic and durable , complying with municipal standards and the guidelines of the manufacturer Fujitsu.
Installing the Fujitsu MultiZone System
The installation took place in three main stages:
1. Fixing the external supports
The compressors were mounted on galvanized wall brackets , carefully anchored into the building's masonry.
Each unit is positioned to ensure good air circulation and easy access for maintenance . The refrigerant pipes have been grouped together in a white technical duct , ensuring both protection and a clean finish, in harmony with the facade.
2. Installation of indoor units
Inside each home, our technicians installed a strategically positioned Fujitsu wall unit :
-
Main living room on the ground floor.
-
Second floor master bedroom.
-
Open area on the third floor.
Each unit has been individually tested to ensure a perfect balance between airflow, noise level and set temperature.
3. Refrigeration connections and calibration
Once the copper pipes and communication cables were secured, our team proceeded to:
-
A complete vacuum of the circuit to eliminate all moisture.
-
A nitrogen leak test under pressure.
-
Injection of R410A refrigerant according to the exact charge recommended by Fujitsu.
-
A final calibration via the electronic parameters of the compressor main board.
Result: personalized comfort and energy efficiency
From the moment it was switched on, each tenant was able to feel the immediate comfort of the system:
-
A stable and uniform temperature in all rooms.
-
Near-silent operation , even in high-performance mode.
-
30% lower energy consumption compared to their old window system.
The owner particularly appreciated the careful finishing of the wiring and exterior pipes, perfectly aligned and protected.
Why choose a Fujitsu MultiZone system?
The Fujitsu MultiZone is ideal for multi-story buildings and multi-unit residences:
-
It allows multiple zones to be controlled from a single compressor.
-
It significantly reduces the number of exterior units visible on the facade.
-
It offers unparalleled configuration flexibility (up to 5 indoor units).
-
Its high energy efficiency makes it a sustainable energy-efficient solution, perfectly adapted to the Quebec climate.
