Installation of a Midea wall-mounted heat pump in Rosemère

A clean and safe installation on a flat roof

On the flat roofs of Rosemère , our AirGreen technicians regularly carry out careful installations of Midea wall-mounted heat pumps , a popular choice for urban homes and duplexes seeking a perfect balance between comfort, efficiency and durability. This project perfectly illustrates our rigorous approach and attention to detail in a typical Quebec residential environment.

Project background

The client had just purchased a renovated duplex and wanted to replace an old air conditioner with a wall-mounted Midea heat pump . The goal: to provide four-season comfort on the upper floor, while limiting the visual and noise impact.
The unit was to be installed on a flat roof , adjacent to a south-facing brick wall—a configuration requiring stable mounting and increased protection from heat and vibration.

Site preparation and security

Before any intervention, our team carried out:

  • An assessment of the roof to ensure its strength and watertightness.

  • The installation of treated wooden support slabs to distribute the weight of the condenser and prevent any perforation of the bituminous membrane.

  • The installation of a raised galvanized structure , guaranteeing optimal ventilation and sufficient clearance in the event of rainwater accumulation.

This meticulous preparation forms the basis of a durable installation that complies with current HVAC standards.

Technical details of the installation

The chosen equipment:

  • Midea Premier Series 12,000 BTU wall-mounted heat pump , capable of heating down to -25°C.

  • R410A refrigerant, recognized for its stable performance and low environmental impact.

  • Refrigeration ducts sheathed and protected by an insulated wall cover, ensuring a clean and aesthetic finish.

The pipe routing was carefully planned:

  • A short, direct path between the wall and the condenser.

  • A controlled slope of the drainage pipe to ensure the evacuation of condensates.

  • Anti-vibration mounts on the metal structure to minimize noise transmitted to the building.

Checks and start-up

After fixing the condenser, our technicians:

  1. Performed a nitrogen leak test to verify the integrity of the lines.

  2. Complete vacuum extraction of the circuit , essential to eliminate all traces of humidity.

  3. Performed refrigerant charge and initial start-up , monitoring evaporating pressure and temperature.

The indoor unit, installed in the main living area, has been calibrated for uniform airflow and quiet operation.
Final measurements confirmed stable consumption and optimal energy efficiency , with a SEER coefficient greater than 20.

Result: comfort and discretion

From the moment of commissioning, the customer was able to appreciate:

  • Fast and even cooling in the main rooms.

  • Minimal noise level on the roof and inside.

  • A discreet and aesthetic installation , without visible cables or vibrations.

Thanks to AirGreen expertise, the Midea system blends harmoniously into the building's architecture while delivering consistent, energy-efficient performance year-round.
