Fujitsu wall-mounted air conditioner repair in Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie

A typical Montreal service call

In the Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie neighborhood, a customer contacted us after noticing that their Fujitsu wall-mounted air conditioner was no longer blowing cold air and was making a slight rubbing noise when it started. This type of breakdown is quite common after a long winter, especially when the system has not been serviced before the warmer months.

At AirGreen , we regularly work on Fujitsu wall-mounted systems installed in apartments and condos in downtown Montreal, where limited space and ambient dust can quickly affect the performance of the indoor unit.

Diagnosis: ventilation motor and coil fouling

Upon our arrival, we carried out a detailed inspection:

  • Removing the front cover of the indoor unit;

  • Checking the ventilation motor ;

  • Observation of the evaporation coil (the blue part of the heat exchanger);

  • Analysis of wiring and electrical connections.

We immediately noticed several telltale signs:

  1. Significant accumulation of dust and grease on the tangential fan;

  2. Traces of oxidation on the copper coil , indicating excessive condensation due to lack of maintenance;

  3. Slightly exposed power wires , probably from previous unprofessional work;

  4. A seized blower motor , preventing smooth rotation of the turbine.

Intervention: deep cleaning and targeted replacement

Our technicians have undertaken a partial refurbishment of the unit:

  • Complete disassembly of the ventilation motor and cleaning of the bearings with compressed air;

  • Replaced the blower motor with an original Fujitsu model to ensure compatibility and longevity;

  • High-pressure cleaning of the evaporator coil with a biodegradable product designed for residential HVAC systems;

  • Renewal of electrical connections using new insulated terminals;

  • Reinstallation of the refrigeration line insulation , to prevent heat loss and future condensation.

Once everything was reassembled, we tested the air conditioner over several complete cycles. The airflow was once again powerful, and the outlet temperature indicated optimal performance .

Results: comfort restored and efficiency restored

Thanks to this intervention, the customer was able to regain consistent freshness in his home from day one. The Fujitsu wall-mounted air conditioner now operates quietly, with reduced energy consumption and smooth condensate drainage .

We also recommended that the client adopt annual preventative maintenance —ideally in the spring—to prevent Montreal's urban dust and pollutants from re-clogging the exchanger.

AirGreen Tips to Extend the Life of a Wall-Mounted Air Conditioner

For any Fujitsu, Gree, Sharp or Midea wall system , we recommend:

  • A complete cleaning of the indoor and outdoor coil at least once a year;

  • Checking the ventilation motor and the condensate drain;

  • Visual inspection of refrigeration pipes and electrical cables ;

  • Installing a clean filter at each change of season;

  • Call for service as soon as an unusual noise, smell or vibration appears.
