Fujitsu wall-mounted air conditioner repair in Saint-Lambert

When an aging unit shows signs of fatigue

At AirGreen , we are often called to diagnose and repair wall-mounted air conditioning systems that have been installed for over a decade. This was the case during our recent intervention in Saint-Lambert , on the South Shore of Montreal , where a customer contacted us about a Fujitsu wall-mounted air conditioner that was no longer properly cooling his living room during hot summer days.

Diagnosis: loss of performance and internal fouling

Upon arrival, we noticed that the wall unit—a Fujitsu model from the mid-2000s—was exhibiting several symptoms typical of a unit requiring extensive maintenance and upgrading :

  • Low airflow despite fan at maximum speed

  • Air outlet temperature warmer than expected

  • Accumulation of dust and debris inside the heat exchanger

  • Excessive condensation on the lower face of the unit

Our certified technicians performed a complete system diagnosis , including:

  • Checking refrigerant pressures (R-410A)

  • Outdoor Compressor Inspection

  • Testing the electronic control board

  • Measurement of inrush current at start-up

The verdict: The system suffered from advanced evaporator fouling , which drastically reduced heat transfer capacity, and a slightly low refrigerant level , causing inconsistent performance.

The intervention: deep cleaning and refrigerant recharge

We partially disassembled the indoor unit to access the evaporator coil. After protecting the surrounding surfaces, a complete chemical cleaning was performed to remove deposits that had accumulated over several seasons.

Afterwards :

  1. A vacuum was drawn to ensure the circuit was watertight.

  2. An R-410A refrigerant recharge was carried out according to the manufacturer's specifications Fujitsu.

  3. The air filters have been replaced, and the blower blades cleaned.

  4. A full operational test confirmed a return to full system efficiency.

Result: restored performance and satisfied customer

After the repair, the Fujitsu unit returned to a blowing temperature of 9°C and optimal airflow . The customer, who was worried about having to replace his unit, was pleasantly surprised by the difference: his wall-mounted air conditioner regained efficiency almost equivalent to that of a new unit.

We also took the time to review preventative maintenance with the owner, including:

  • Clean filters every 4 to 6 weeks

  • Annual inspection of refrigerant pressures

  • Checking the condensate drain to prevent overflows

  • Planning an AirGreen seasonal maintenance , before each summer
