Fujitsu wall-mounted air conditioner repair in Sainte-Julie

An urgent service call for an overloaded appliance

At AirGreen , we were called in to repair a Fujitsu wall-mounted air conditioner in Sainte-Julie , on the South Shore of Montreal . The customer, the owner of a single-family home, had noticed for several days that the indoor unit was making an irregular noise and was no longer cooling properly . The control screen was flashing, indicating a fan motor overload error code .

Our rapid response team arrived the same day to prevent any worsening of the problem, which is particularly common during hot weather.

Accurate diagnosis of Fujitsu system

After removing the top panel and exposing the air filters , our technicians immediately noticed a significant buildup of dust and pollen , partially obstructing the airflow. This lack of circulation caused the fan motor to overheat and significantly reduced thermal efficiency.

Our checks revealed:

  • A variable speed blower motor in electrical overload .

  • A control board showing signs of excessive heat .

  • Air filters saturated and not cleaned for over a year .

  • A slight condensate leak at the lower tray.

Complete repair and refurbishment

The intervention was planned and executed according to AirGreen standards:

  1. Complete disassembly of the front cover and extraction of the blower module.

  2. Clean the motor and fan blades using a specialized non-corrosive product.

  3. Replaced the motor start capacitor , which had dropped in capacity to 3 µF from 5 µF.

  4. Complete cleaning of filters and condensate tray , including disinfection with stabilized peroxide.

  5. Check electrical connections and tighten terminal blocks.

  6. Complete system test : airflow measurement, inrush current check, discharge temperature control (outlet at 11°C).

After reassembly, the Fujitsu wall-mounted air conditioner restarted without any abnormal noise and regained its full cooling power . In less than 15 minutes, the room temperature dropped from 27°C to 22°C , confirming the success of the intervention.

Results and maintenance recommendations

The customer, relieved to find optimal comfort, was advised on good preventive maintenance practices :

  • Clean filters every 4 to 6 weeks , especially during the peak summer season.

  • Schedule an annual professional maintenance to clean the turbine and check the refrigeration circuit.

  • Avoid obstruction of the air outlet by keeping the space around the unit clear.

  • Install a surge protector to prevent electrical damage to Fujitsu electronic components.

We have also added additional protection for the condensate tray to prevent overflows in the event of a drain blockage.
