A quick service call for a quiet… but immobile compressor
At AirGreen , we were called to Rosemère , on Montreal's North Shore, to diagnose a problem with a GREE Inverter wall-mounted heat pump installed on the rear facade of a brick residence. The customer had noticed that, despite a normal display on the indoor unit, the outdoor unit was no longer starting —no compressor noise, no blowing from the fan, and no heat production.

Initial inspection and fault diagnosis
Our RBQ certified technician began by checking the essential points:

Supply voltage at the main terminal block: 240 V confirmed.

Communication signal between indoor unit and condenser: stable.

Start capacitor : intact, no swelling or leakage.

Internal fuses and relays : individually tested.
The diagnosis was made clearer at the compressor's main control board . A power resistor showed signs of overheating, likely caused by a power surge from a storm a few days earlier. This failure prevented the inverter compressor from receiving proper power, rendering the unit inactive.
Replacing the GREE electronic card
Thanks to our stock of original GREE parts , we were able to carry out the repair on site the same day.
The key stages of the intervention:
