04 · A2L safety
Simulate a leak: the air handler reacts on its own.
R-454B is an A2L, mildly flammable refrigerant. The AH-6xxA air handler has a refrigerant detection system: tap “Leak detected” to see what the Zephyr manual specifies.

The refrigerant detection sensor (No. 18 in the manual) watches for leaks in the air handler. The indoor unit must stay powered, except for service.
The manual also states that the system self-tests (on a sensor fault: fan running, compressor stopped, warning on the controller) and that the detection system must only be replaced by the manufacturer.

Three rules from the manual
- In test mode, the indoor and outdoor units must have the same tonnage.
- Add no more than 3/8 lb (6 oz) of refrigerant at a time.
- Operating range: heating down to -30 °C, cooling from -15 to 52 °C (outdoors).

R-454B has a GWP of 470 and class A2L. That class is why the air handler includes a leak sensor. In Canada, no GWP limit applies to residential heat pumps.

What is written, and what the law says.
TTI does not publish a warranty term for the series 6 central unit online; we put it on your quote. For a heat pump bought new on or after October 5, 2026, the law adds a 6-year warranty of good working order, counted from delivery.

Legal warranty

For a heat pump or air conditioner bought new from a merchant on or after October 5, 2026, Quebec law adds a free, automatic 6-year warranty of good working order, counted from delivery (Office de la protection du consommateur). Under TTI’s parts policy (v3.4, July 17, 2026), labour to replace a part during that period falls on the installing contractor.
Certified technician
Service or repair by anyone not certified and authorized by TTI (or Kinghome) ends the manufacturer’s conventional warranty (TTI, s. 4.4).
Through your installer
If something breaks, you call the contractor who installed it; they file the claim with TTI.
Filters, every month
TTI’s policy asks owners to clean the indoor unit filters at least once a month (s. 6.3).

The certified Zephyr pairs match the same tonnage, and the manual requires the same tonnage in test mode. The ZE-6xxHPA is also certified with DC cased coils (Aspen, per TTI), at lower ratings.
R-454B is an A2L refrigerant. The AH-6xxA air handler has a detection system: on a leak, the fan must run and the compressor must stop, per the Zephyr manual.
ENERGY STAR lists each Zephyr pair under two numbers: 215381145 to 215381148, and 215434507 to 215434510 (air handler entered as “AH- 6xxA”), with the same SEER2 and HSPF2. The LogisVert amounts on this page were checked with numbers 215381145 to 215381148: those are the ones we put on the quote and invoice.
The series 6 manual states that charging by subcooling only applies in test mode, with indoor and outdoor units of the same tonnage. Target subcooling (± 1 °F): 2 tons: 8 °F, 3 tons: 9 °F, 4 tons: 9 °F, 5 tons: 8 °F. We add no more than 6 oz of refrigerant at a time.

Yes: Hydro-Québec lists pairs by AHRI number. The AH-6xxA air handler pairs (215381145 to 215381148) qualify for $2,448, $3,840, $4,392 and $4,440 per Hydro-Québec’s tool (Oct. 6, 2026). The amount for the cased coil pairs has not been verified.
It is the indoor coil installed on an existing furnace, instead of the Zephyr air handler. With the ZE-6xxHPA, ENERGY STAR certifies the DC coils (Aspen, per TTI; AHRI 218160013 to 218160016) at 16 to 16.5 SEER2 and 8.2 to 8.3 HSPF2, without meeting the “Most Efficient” criteria.

TTI does not publish a warranty term online for the series 6 central unit and air handler: we put it on the quote. For a heat pump bought new on or after October 5, 2026, Quebec law adds a 6-year warranty of good working order, counted from delivery.
Nine months after installation. Hydro-Québec pays by mail, 10 to 12 weeks after a complete application. The invoice must show the RBQ licence and the AHRI or ENERGY STAR number.
