Quick facts
A 2-ton Duotec air handler that adapts to your power supply
What the AHV080014 offers
The AHV080014 is the smallest cabinet in Dettson’s Duotec AHV series, in the 2-ton (24,000 BTU) size. What sets it apart comes down to two words: dual voltage. Dettson rates it for a 115, 208 or 230 V single-phase supply, with a 1/2 HP variable-speed ECM motor.
The cabinet contains no coil. It moves air through the ducts, and the separate coil cabinet, matched with an outdoor unit, provides cooling or heating with the heat pump.
Which buildings it suits
Think of a plex apartment in Montreal or a condo whose electrical panel has little room left: being able to connect the blower to 115 V sometimes makes the job simpler. In a single-family home, the same model connects to 208 or 230 V, with no change of unit.
The ECM motor covers a range of 350 to 1,200 CFM (165 to 566 L/s). That range lets the airflow be matched to the system and the ductwork, instead of being limited to a few fixed speeds.
Backup heat and what to plan for
If you want electric heat in the cabinet, Dettson permits 5, 10 and 15 kW EHIA kits for this size, each tied to a motor tap setting. Without heat, the EHIA00KN10 kit (0 kW) is used. Without a heater, minimum ampacity ranges from 6.5 A at 120 V to 3.3 A at 240 V, with 15 A maximum overcurrent protection.
Two items are not supplied: the coil and the filter. Dettson requires a remote filter grille or other means of filtration. The cabinet installs upflow, downflow or horizontal, left or right.
Sold alone, it has no certified efficiency rating and does not qualify for the LogisVert grant, which follows the certified outdoor unit + air handler pair. The Dettson warranty covers parts for 5 years in residential use; labour is not covered by the manufacturer.
What AirGreen does
For more than fifteen years, our family business established in Montreal has installed ducted systems under RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 (ventilation, refrigeration and electrical). In practice:
- we assess the available power supply and the ductwork on site, free of charge;
- we choose the voltage, the EHIA kit and the coil cabinet with you;
- we install the cabinet, the filter grille and the electrical connections;
- we set the airflow and commission the system.
We work in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, on the South Shore and on the North Shore, with a written quote for every project.

What to know before installing
- Sold alone: the LogisVert grant follows the certified outdoor unit + air handler pair. Bought alone, this air handler does not qualify.
- The filter is not supplied: a remote filter grille or other means of filtration must be provided.
- The coil is not included: it goes in a separate coil cabinet.
- Without heater: minimum ampacity of 6.5 A at 120 V, 3.8 A at 208 V and 3.3 A at 240 V; maximum overcurrent protection of 15 A in all three cases.
- Only Dettson-approved EHIA kits are permitted, installed in the field; the EHIA00KN10 kit means no electric heat (0 kW).
- Dettson warranty: parts 5 years in residential use. Labour is not covered by the manufacturer.

Frequently asked questions
Can it be connected to 115 V?
Yes. The AHV080014 is a dual-voltage cabinet: Dettson rates it for 115, 208 or 230 V, single phase. Without a heater, minimum ampacity is 6.5 A at 120 V. With a heat kit, we check the supply the kit requires.
Which heat kits does it accept?
For the AHV08, Dettson permits 5 kW (EHIA05KN), 10 kW (EHIA10KN) and 15 kW (EHIA15KB) EHIA kits, each with its own motor tap setting. Without heat, the EHIA00KN10 kit (0 kW) is used.
Is the filter included?
No. Dettson requires a remote filter grille or other means of filtration. We build it into the return air during installation.
Is the coil included?
No. The AHV cabinet contains only the blower. The cooling or heat pump coil goes in a separate cabinet, chosen based on the outdoor unit.
Does it qualify for the LogisVert grant?
Not when bought alone: Hydro-Québec’s grant follows the certified outdoor unit + air handler pair. For a complete system, we check eligibility in the quote.
