Quick facts
18 kW at 480 V to heat a radiant slab or a commercial hot water loop
What the 480 V BTH ULTRA 18 is
Thermo 2000’s BTH ULTRA 18 comes in several voltages; this one is the commercial version at 480 V three phase. It delivers 18 kW, or 61,416 BTU/h, through three 6 kW elements designed for 277 V, which heat together on a single stage. Wall-mounted, it weighs 75 lb, holds 3 US gallons of water and connects with 1 1/4 in female NPT fittings.
This model suits commercial and institutional buildings supplied at 480 V. Think of a workshop or commercial garage with a heated slab, a business or showroom heated through the floor, an institutional space with radiators. Thermo 2000 designs it for new construction as well as replacement, and as backup for a geothermal system or a heat pump.
Built to last
Thermo 2000 describes the BTH ULTRA as compact, robust and easy to maintain, with no on-site GHG emissions. In a workshop or garage, it is a unit you can forget about: mounted on the wall, it leaves the floor clear. Two high limits, automatic at 208 °F (98 °C) and manual at 227 °F (108 °C), protect the boiler, and the supplied 30 psi relief valve protects the loop.
The T2 UltraSmart controller sets the water temperature from the supplied outdoor sensor, on one of three curves (MIN, STD, MAX). Warm weather shutdown rests the boiler when heat is not needed, and Boost mode remains available. The backlit display, presets by distribution system, pump purge and 24 V supply for the thermostat round out the package.
The supply to plan
At 480 V, the boiler draws 21.6 A. Thermo 2000 lists a 30 A breaker and copper or aluminum wire gauge 10. If your building is supplied at 600 V, the commercial BTH ULTRA line offers a version for that voltage: we confirm the voltage on site before choosing.
What AirGreen’s installation covers
After a free on-site estimate, you receive a written quote that describes the boiler, the 480 V electrical connection and the work on the loop. Our technicians mount the boiler, connect it to the loop (two reducers supplied) and to the electrical circuit, fill and purge the system, then set the controller for your floor or radiators. Thermo 2000 covers the tank for 15 years and electrical and mechanical components for 2 years, according to its commercial manual.
