Quick facts
Replace or install a 36 kW boiler on a 480 V system
What the 480 V BTH ULTRA 36 offers
Among the 480 V three-phase versions of the BTH ULTRA, the 36 kW model is the largest. Six 6 kW, 277 V elements, controlled in two stages, produce 122,832 BTU/h according to Thermo 2000. It all fits in a 75 lb wall-mounted cabinet that holds 3 US gal of water.
The boiler heats a closed loop that feeds a radiant floor, radiators or hot-water baseboards. It suits warehouses, showrooms, workshops and industrial buildings on 480 V power, for new construction as well as replacements. Thermo 2000 also presents it as backup for a geothermal system.
A replacement without changing voltage
In many industrial buildings, the original electric boiler runs on 480 V. Replacing it with a unit of the same voltage avoids reworking the electrical distribution. Take a showroom in Longueuil that has been heated through the floor for years: if the old boiler is 480 V and of similar output, the BTH ULTRA 36 can take its place, provided the circuit handles 43.3 A and a 60 A breaker, the values Thermo 2000 publishes.
The gain shows mostly in the controls. The T2 UltraSmart controller modulates output based on demand, adjusts the water temperature through the supplied outdoor sensor (MIN, STD and MAX curves) and stops heating in mild weather. Its backlit display, presets by distribution system, Boost mode and pump purge make day-to-day operation easier. For safety, an automatic limit at 208 °F (98 °C) and a manual reset limit at 227 °F (108 °C) protect the unit.
What AirGreen does, step by step
- A free on-site estimate: voltage, panel, loop, emitters and the nameplate of the current boiler.
- A written quote that specifies the boiler and the parts outside the list of supplied items, such as the circulator and the expansion tank.
- Wall mounting, connection of the piping in 1 1/4 in NPT and of the 480 V circuit, with conductor size set according to the electrical code.
- Installation of the supplied 30 psi relief valve, drain valve and temperature and pressure gauge, then filling and purging of the loop.
- Connection of the outdoor sensor, choice of the curve and controller setup with you.
Thermo 2000 covers the tank for 15 years and the electrical and mechanical components for 2 years (parts). AirGreen is a family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years, holding RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 for ventilation, refrigeration and electrical work.

Frequently asked questions
Can I replace my current 480 V boiler with this one?
Often, if the voltage and output are right. We record the existing unit’s nameplate and the circuit capacity before confirming: the BTH ULTRA 36 draws 43.3 A and calls for a 60 A breaker on 480 V.
How much heat does it produce?
36 kW, or 122,832 BTU/h according to Thermo 2000, spread over six 6 kW elements and two stages.
What is the outdoor sensor for?
It lets the T2 UltraSmart controller modulate the water temperature to the outdoor temperature (MIN, STD and MAX curves) and stop heating in mild weather. Thermo 2000 supplies it with the boiler.
What safety devices does the boiler have?
An automatic high limit at 208 °F (98 °C), a manual reset limit at 227 °F (108 °C) and the supplied 30 psi relief valve.
What is the warranty?
Thermo 2000 covers the tank for 15 years and the electrical and mechanical components for 2 years (parts), in Canada and the United States.
