BRADFORD WHITE RE250LN6-1NCPP Electric Water Heater (45 gallons) | Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, South Shore & North Shore
A 170 L family reserve in a low tank, for homes where the ceiling limits the choice
A family living in a house with a low basement often faces a dilemma when it is time to change the water heater: upright tanks large enough for them do not fit under the joists, and small low tanks run short of hot water. The Bradford White RE250LN6-1NCPP electric water heater resolves this dilemma with a 170 L reserve in a tank 33 5/16 in. tall. It is the largest of the low tanks in this Bradford White family that we offer. AirGreen installs it in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, on the South Shore and on the North Shore.
When height is short, but needs are not
The RE250LN6-1NCPP targets households that use as much hot water as a typical family, for example four people with a main bathroom and a powder room, but whose mechanical room is low. It is found under a mezzanine, in a basement whose ceiling was lowered to hide ducts, in a house on a crawl space or in a cottage lived in year-round. It lets you keep a family-size reserve without tearing down a ceiling or moving the plumbing to another room.
A larger reserve also has a less visible advantage: it leaves more margin when several appliances run at the same time, for example a shower while the dishwasher fills. The temperature stays steadier at the tap, and the tank has time to recover between the morning and evening peaks.
The trade-off: wider and heavier
To fit 170 L into a low height, the tank gets wider: it measures 26 in. (660 mm) in diameter. It also weighs 173 lb (78 kg) empty, which calls for two people and a suitable hand truck on a basement staircase. Before confirming the model, we measure the width of the stairs and doors, the available floor space and the clearance in front of the elements. If the access is too narrow, we tell you at the assessment and propose another solution.

Simultaneous or non-simultaneous
By default, the RE250LN6-1NCPP is configured for non-simultaneous operation: its elements never heat at the same time, which limits the demand on the home's electrical panel. Simultaneous operation, where the elements can heat together to speed up recovery, is available as an option but must be specified when ordering, because it increases the current draw. In most homes, the default configuration is the most sensible; we discuss it with you based on your panel's capacity.
Element wattage
The exact element wattage of the unit ordered is confirmed with the order and written in your quote. It determines the size of the breaker and conductors, which we check before installation. In a house, this type of tank is fed by a two-pole 240 V circuit; the existing circuit can often be kept if it matches the confirmed wattage.
Year-round cottages and manufactured homes
According to Bradford White, this model is approved for installation in manufactured homes under standard CAN/CSA Z240 MH series, and all models in the series are UL listed. Its low format suits factory-built homes and four-season cottages well, where the utility room is often under a staircase or in a finished crawl space.
Tank protection and maintenance
The Vitraglas with Microban lining protects the inside of the tank. The copper immersion elements screw into the tank and can be replaced with INCOLOY-type elements on request. The low-restriction brass drain valve clears sediment effectively, which matters in a wide tank where sediment spreads over a large bottom.
Manufacturer's warranty
This model is covered by a 6-year limited warranty on the tank and 6 years on parts. The full terms are provided with the quote.
AirGreen installs your RE250LN6-1NCPP, from assessment to commissioning
AirGreen is a family-owned heating and cooling company established in Montreal, active for more than fifteen years and holding RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 (ventilation, refrigeration and electrical). Every project starts with a free on-site estimate and a written quote. Installation includes:
- assessing the headroom, floor space, access and the nearest drain;
- draining and removing the old tank;
- moving the new tank to its location;
- connecting the cold and hot water in 3/4 in. NPT;
- the relief valve and its discharge line;
- the electrical connection according to the confirmed wattage and a check of the circuit;
- filling, powering up and setting the temperature;
- maintenance advice: annual flush, relief valve test, anode inspection.
Renovating your basement
If the replacement goes along with finishing a basement, it is the right time to plan the mechanical room properly. Avoid enclosing the tank in a closet with no access door, provide a floor drain or a drain pan, and keep space in front of the elements. We can visit the site before the walls go up to show you how much space to reserve.
Service area
We install this model in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, as well as in Saint-Léonard, Montréal-Nord, Vimont, Saint-Hubert, Sainte-Catherine and everywhere on the South Shore and the North Shore. Our financing lets you spread out the cost of the project.
