BRADFORD WHITE RE240LN6-1NCPP Electric Water Heater (37 gallons) | Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, South Shore & North Shore
140 L of hot water in a low tank, for basements where every inch of height counts
Many homes in the region have a low basement: exposed beams, ventilation ducts under the joists, a ceiling rebuilt too low during a renovation. When it is time to replace the water heater, the usual upright tank no longer fits. The Bradford White RE240LN6-1NCPP electric water heater offers a 140 L reserve in a tank 32 1/16 in. tall, designed for these spaces. AirGreen installs it in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, on the South Shore and on the North Shore.
A reserve for a couple or a small family
With its 140 L, the RE240LN6-1NCPP sits in the middle of this family of low tanks. It suits a couple, or a small family whose showers do not all happen at the same time. It is also a very good replacement for an old low tank at the end of its life, with no need to move the plumbing or modify a ceiling. If the family grows or the house has two bathrooms used in the morning, we compare it with the next size up before making a recommendation.
How the tank heats water
An electric storage water heater keeps a reserve of hot water ready for use. When you open a tap, hot water leaves from the top and cold water enters the bottom of the tank. The upper thermostat responds first and heats the top of the tank, to quickly restore hot water to the taps; once that zone is up to temperature, heating switches to the lower element, which reheats the rest of the reserve. In the non-simultaneous configuration, it is always one or the other, never both at once. This simple principle explains the reliability of this type of unit and how easy it is to maintain.

Think about access as much as height
A low tank solves the ceiling issue, but maintenance also has to be planned. The elements of the RE240LN6-1NCPP screw into the tank and are reached through their access panels, so enough clearance must be kept in front of them to replace them one day. At 24 1/2 in. in diameter, the tank takes up a little more floor space than an upright model. During the assessment, we check the space around the unit, the path down the stairs for its 126 lb and the proximity of a floor drain.
Electrical: what is confirmed with the order
The default configuration is non-simultaneous: only one element heats at a time, which keeps the current draw moderate. The exact element wattage of the unit ordered is confirmed with the order and written on the quote, because it sets the size of the breaker and conductors. Bradford White offers this model in 120 V, 208 V, 240 V, 277 V and 480 V; in a house, the usual supply is a two-pole 240 V circuit. If the old tank's circuit is in good condition and matches the confirmed wattage, it can be reused.
A drain valve that makes maintenance easier
The RE240LN6-1NCPP is equipped with a low-restriction brass drain valve with a durable tamper-resistant design. In a low, wide tank, sediment spreads over a large bottom; a valve that allows a good flow clears it more effectively during the annual flush. It is a detail that matters in areas where the water is hard.
Lining and elements
The tank is protected by Bradford White's Vitraglas with Microban lining. The copper immersion elements can be replaced with INCOLOY-type elements on request. Since they are screwed in, a faulty element can be changed without replacing the tank, a routine and quick job.
Standards and listings
Bradford White states that all models in the series are UL listed and that this model is approved for installation in manufactured homes under standard CAN/CSA Z240 MH series.
Manufacturer's warranty
The RE240LN6-1NCPP is covered by a 6-year limited warranty on the tank and 6 years on parts. The detailed terms are provided with the quote.
