BRADFORD WHITE RE250S10-1NCPP Electric Water Heater (47 gallons) | Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, South Shore & North Shore
The extended-warranty version of the 47 US gallon tank, for homeowners who plan ahead
When you plan to stay in your home for a long time, you choose a water heater differently. You look less at day one than at the years that follow: the quality of the tank, ease of maintenance and the manufacturer's coverage. The Bradford White RE250S10-1NCPP electric water heater is the extended-warranty version of Bradford White's 47 US gallon (39 imperial gallon, 178 L) residential tank. It shares the capacity and construction of the standard version, with longer coverage. AirGreen installs it in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, on the South Shore and on the North Shore.
What the "10" suffix means
In Bradford White's model numbering, the figure following the model letter indicates the warranty category. The manufacturer specifies that, to get the extended-warranty version of a tank in this series, the "6" suffix is replaced with "10". The RE250S10-1NCPP is therefore the extended-warranty version of this capacity. The exact split of coverage between the tank and the parts is confirmed in writing with your quote, so you know precisely what is covered before ordering.
Which homes it suits
With a 178 L reserve, this tank suits a family of three or four sharing a main bathroom and a powder room. The extended-warranty version appeals mostly to homeowners who have just bought and plan to stay, those renovating their basement who do not want to touch it again, or duplex owners who live in one of the units and want fewer surprises. In a home to be sold in the short term, the standard version is often enough.

Construction designed to last
The tank is protected by the Vitraglas with Microban lining, which isolates the steel from the water. The factory-installed dielectric fittings on the 3/4 in. connections separate the steel of the tank from the copper of the piping, a joint where corrosion often starts. The immersion elements are screwed in: when an element wears out, it can be replaced without changing the tank, which is exactly what you expect from a unit kept for a long time.
A 59 W standby loss
Bradford White publishes a standby loss of 59 W for this model. This value measures the heat the tank gives off to the room when idle; it depends mostly on the insulation around the tank. A moderate loss means fewer heating cycles to maintain the temperature. To go further, we insulate the accessible hot water piping near the tank, a simple improvement that keeps the water in the lines hot for longer.
Water quality and service life
Over the long term, water quality matters as much as the tank's construction. Hard water leaves sediment at the bottom of the tank and scales the elements; softened water, on the other hand, wears the anode faster. If your home is supplied by a well or equipped with a water softener, we adjust the frequency of flushing and anode inspections accordingly. It is a small adjustment that makes a real difference to the life of a tank you plan to keep for a long time.
Electrical connection
The factory configuration is non-simultaneous: only one element heats at a time. Simultaneous operation is available, but it must be requested when ordering. The exact element wattage of the unit ordered is confirmed with the order and written in your quote, because it determines the breaker and the conductor size. In a house, the tank is fed by a two-pole 240 V circuit, which we check before reusing it.
Making a warranty claim when the time comes
An extended warranty is only worth something if you can make a claim. Keep your installation invoice and note the serial number on the nameplate; this is the information usually requested when making a claim. Regular maintenance, such as an annual partial flush and an anode inspection, also helps keep the unit in good condition throughout the coverage period.

New construction and major renovation
In new construction or a complete renovation, the water heater deserves its place from the planning stage: an accessible room, a floor drain nearby and enough clearance in front of the elements. We can coordinate the installation with your contractor so the tank arrives at the right time, once the rough plumbing and electrical are ready.
Service area
We work in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, Westmount, Mount Royal, Sainte-Dorothée, Brossard, Carignan and everywhere on the South Shore and the North Shore. Payment can be spread out through our financing.
