DamperIt defrosts without depressurizing the house
In cold weather, a motorized damper closes the outdoor air intake and recirculates indoor air through the core to thaw it. The house doesn't go into negative pressure during the cycle: no cold air drawn in through leaks, and none of the imbalance manufacturers warn about when there's a fireplace or a combustion appliance.

Excess moisture leaves the house. In Québec, that's the right choice in most cases: in winter, the problem is almost always too much humidity, not too little.

K10 HRV: A Cube with Character
The K10 HRV is capable of meeting the ventilation needs of larger dwellings, despite being as easy to install as other models in the same series. Thanks to its compact size and its 4-inch vertical or horizontal ports, it can be installed in small spaces such as a wardrobe or above a hot water tank in a furnace room.
The K10 HRV is equipped with a single fan, making it quieter than any other similar HRV on the market. Weighing in at just 30 lbs. (13.6 kg), it can be installed without having to open the unit. It comes with pressure taps, balancing dampers, integrated hooks, and belts to connect the ducts to the mouths to simplify installation.
Maintenance
All parts of the K10 HRV that may require maintenance can be removed in less than 5 minutes, allowing quick access for easy maintenance. The motor, equipped with a permanent capacitor, is lubricated for life.
Warranty
The K10 HRV is covered by a 5-year warranty on parts only, while the heat recovery core is covered by a limited lifetime warranty with the original proof of purchase.
Controls
The operation of this unit is simplicity itself. Once installed, press the button located on the upper left side of the unit to select high or low speed or to stop the unit. The LED (located under the button) will then display the mode of the device.

Options
The K10 HRV offers a complete range of grids and diffusers, as well as auxiliary electric heating. It also has an exclusive wall mount bracket (No. 19255).
Defrosting System
The K10 HRV uses a recirculation defrost method, which maintains balanced air pressure in the house. If there is a request for ventilation from an auxiliary wall control during the defrost cycle, it is put on hold while the air is exchanged, ensuring that humid air is not recirculated.
Heat Recovery Core
The K10 HRV features a heat recovery core with dimensions of 10" x 10" x 5.5" and a weight of just 4 lbs. This cross-flow core is made of polypropylene, ensuring durability and effective heat transfer. The heat recovery core is covered by a limited lifetime warranty.
Standards and Requirements
The K10 HRV complies with several key requirements and standards. It meets the UL 1812 requirements for the installation of Heat Recovery Ventilators, the CSA C22.2 No. 113 standard applicable to ventilators, and the CSA F326 requirements for the installation of Heat Recovery Ventilators. Its performance has been tested according to the CSA C439 standards, and it is HVI certified.
