About 68 litres of water turned into humidity in 24 hours. The control runs it to match the humidity you set: it rarely runs flat out, except in very cold weather.
Heat pumpBehind a heat pump, it produces less
It evaporates water from a pad using the heat of the air coming off the furnace. A heat pump blows cooler air, so it evaporates less. With a heat pump, talk to our estimator: depending on the manufacturer, we connect it to hot water or suggest a steam model instead.

Clean Comfort HE18FA2: a fan-powered humidifier with no bypass duct
The HE18FA2 is a fan-powered humidifier installed on the furnace plenum. It produces 18 gal/day, the highest output of the Clean Comfort evaporative models we offer. The manufacturer gives a volume of 24,000 cu ft; by our estimate, it suits about 2,100 sq ft in an average-construction home.
What FA2 means
- F for fan: a built-in fan pushes air through the pad. So it needs no bypass duct, which helps when space around the furnace is tight.
- A for automatic: the DV6062A1001 HumidiPRO digital control is supplied.
- 2 for Clean Comfort's 2020 generation. It takes the same pad as the HE17A2.
What it needs on site
The fan runs on 120 V and draws 1 A: you need a 120 V supply near the furnace. The plenum opening is larger than on the bypass models, 13½ × 14 1/16 in. It also needs a water line and a drain on the ½ in. fitting. The HE26E1004 (Agion antimicrobial) or CCF-A35 pad is replaceable. The fan does not replace heat: behind a heat pump it produces less.
