About 64 litres of water turned into humidity in 24 hours. The control runs it to match the humidity you set: it rarely runs flat out, except in very cold weather.
Heat pumpBehind a heat pump, it produces less
It evaporates water from a pad using the heat of the air coming off the furnace. A heat pump blows cooler air, so it evaporates less. With a heat pump, talk to our estimator: depending on the manufacturer, we connect it to hot water or suggest a steam model instead.
AdvancedMotorized bypass damper
A TrueEASE 'Advanced' model: its damper closes on its own when the house doesn't need humidity. Resideo claims 30 to 50% water savings.
15 VAA larger transformer
The motorized damper draws 0.75 A at 24 V and needs a 15 VA transformer, instead of 10 VA for the Basic models.

Honeywell HE250A1005/U: the large TrueEASE Advanced, US version
The HE250A1005/U is a TrueEASE bypass humidifier that delivers 17 gal/day with 49 °C (120 °F) furnace air. It suits a home of about 2,000 sq ft by our estimate.
A: the US version of the HE250
A is the US version. The Canadian version, the HE250C1014/U, ships with the installation hardware. Once installed, it's the same humidifier: same HC26 pad, same motorized bypass damper and same HumidiPRO H6062 digital control. The damper closes on its own when the house doesn't need humidity, and Resideo claims 30 to 50% water savings.
What to plan for on site
We cut a 9¾ × 12⅝ in. opening in the plenum and install a 6 in. bypass duct. The motorized damper draws 0.75 A at 24 V, which calls for a 15 VA transformer. A water line and a drain are required. Replace the HC26A1008 pad, or the HC26E1004 antimicrobial pad, at least once a year. With a heat pump, the air in the plenum is cooler than the 49 °C (120 °F) reference and output drops.
