Quick facts
The adjustable ground stand holds a heat pump's outdoor unit at the height you need, above the snow and water that collect on the ground. It sits in front of the house, without drilling into or loading the wall, and its height is adjusted to suit the location.
Keeping the outdoor unit above the snow
A heat pump heats all winter long. Its outdoor unit must be able to draw in air freely and drain its defrost water without ice building up underneath. Installed too low, it ends up buried after a storm. The ground stand solves the problem when the wall is not suited to a wall bracket: lightweight siding, a window above, or simply a preference not to attach anything to the house.
Three models
- 26 × 14 in: height adjustable from 14 to 25 in.
- 30 × 17 in: height adjustable from 18 to 34 in.
- Painted grey aluminum: aluminum version with a grey finish.
Installation tips
The stand must sit on a stable, level base: slab, pavers or blocks. On a roof membrane or fragile pavers, plastic foot pads spread the load under each leg. Add anti-vibration pads between the unit and the stand, and respect the clearances required by the heat pump manufacturer.

Frequently asked questions
What height do I need?
High enough for the unit to stay above the snow that builds up there in winter. The 26 × 14 in model adjusts from 14 to 25 in, the 30 × 17 in model from 18 to 34 in.
Ground stand or wall bracket?
A ground stand avoids drilling and loading the wall and keeps vibrations out of the house. A wall bracket frees up the ground. We choose based on the location.
Does the stand need to be fastened?
It must sit on a stable, level base. Depending on the location and the wind, our technicians anchor or weigh it down.
Can you install it?
Yes. Our technicians set up the stand and the outdoor unit when they install your heat pump, everywhere in Greater Montréal.
