Quick facts
The outdoor unit wall bracket lets you hang the outdoor unit of a wall-mounted heat pump or a multi-zone system directly on the wall of the house. The unit stays above snow and standing water, and the space in front of the wall stays clear. The bracket is sold individually: you need two per unit.
Why mount the outdoor unit on the wall
In Montréal, snow can pile up high against the foundation. A unit set too low ends up buried, and defrost water refreezes under it. On a wall, the unit breathes better in winter and water drips away freely. It is also the answer when the ground is sloped, cluttered or too narrow for a ground stand.

Installation tips
The anchors depend on the wall: brick, concrete and wood studs are not fastened the same way. Place anti-vibration pads between the unit and the rails to limit the noise carried into the house, and respect the clearances around the unit required by the heat pump manufacturer.

An outdoor unit on the wall, away from the snow
When the unit cannot sit on the ground, or snow piles up too high, it goes on two brackets fixed to the wall.

What to know before installing
- Check the outdoor unit’s weight and depth in its manual before choosing a size.

How many brackets do I need?

How is it different from the heavy-duty wall bracket?
The heavy-duty bracket is meant for heavier units, such as large multi-zone units, with a 115 lb or 200 lb capacity depending on the model.
