Installation and distribution of the 1.5-ton YORK YH5 LX central heat pump throughout Greater Montreal.
LX Series with R-454B refrigerant, ENERGY STAR® certified, with a 10-year parts and compressor warranty.
Certified performance, not advertised performance. Paired with the YORK JHE18B5AB2SS1 air handler, the YH518E2S11 is rated at 15.2 SEER2, 12.5 EER2, and 7.8 HSPF2 under AHRI Certificate 215820367. It delivers 10,900 BTU/h at -8 °C and 8,800 BTU/h at -15 °C.
YORK approves heating operation for this series down to -18 °C. Below that temperature, the auxiliary heat source — electric element or furnace — takes over. We always size both systems together, following an actual home load calculation: an oversized central system costs more, short-cycles, and dehumidifies poorly.
The air handler is part of the system. The JHE18B5AB2SS1 is a 45.6-inch-high, 17.5-inch-wide, and 21.5-inch-deep single-piece unit with a constant-torque ECM motor, supplied with its thermostatic expansion valve and A2L detector factory-installed. It can be installed in upflow, downflow, right-horizontal, or left-horizontal configurations — allowing flexibility when choosing its location in a basement or attic.
A flexible outdoor unit. It can be paired with an air handler, an “A” coil, or a “cased coil,” and operates with a conventional thermostat — no proprietary control required. The tube-and-fin coil and baked-on salt-spray-resistant coating are designed for outdoor durability.
R-454B replaces R-410A. Its global warming potential is nearly 78% lower, and it is the refrigerant used in new equipment sold in Canada.
YORK heat pumps are also eligible for provincial and/or federal rebates, such as Chauffez Vert, Efficient Heat Pumps (Hydro-Québec), and Greener Homes.
