Quick facts
Fantech FG series fans are inline centrifugal fans that install in a 4 to 12 in round duct. Fantech describes them as low to medium airflow metal fans: a two-piece stamped galvanized steel housing that is sealed, durable and quiet.
Exhaust air without a motor in the room
The FG goes far from the room it serves, in the attic, a service ceiling or the mechanical room. It is used for exhaust from a bathroom, a laundry room or several points to a single outlet, to boost a long duct that lacks airflow, or for fresh air supply. It mounts at any angle.
Six diameters, two versions
- Diameters of 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12 in
- Standard or XL for each diameter; the XL version offers higher airflow
What Fantech provides
Automatic-reset thermal motor protection, air up to 140 °F (60 °C), mounting brackets and hardware included, no maintenance required and a 5-year warranty. Fantech also offers speed controls, an IR balancing damper and RSK backdraft dampers to complete the installation. At the exterior outlet, plan for a wall hood with a damper. The electrical connection must be done by qualified personnel.

Frequently asked questions
Standard or XL?
For the same size, the XL version delivers more airflow. It suits long ducts with several elbows, or exhausting several rooms. Send us the duct layout and we pick the model.
Can I add a switch or timer?
Yes. Fantech offers speed controls and timers for its inline fans; a bathroom wall timer also works.
Where should it go?
As far as practical from the room it serves, for example in the attic or a service ceiling, so motor noise stays away. It mounts at any angle.
Can you install it?
Yes. Our technicians install the fan, the duct and the wall outlet, everywhere in Greater Montréal.
