Service call for a Fujitsu wall-mounted heat pump in Brossard

A lack of performance detected thanks to an accurate diagnosis

At AirGreen , every service call is an opportunity to demonstrate the importance of a rigorous and methodical diagnosis . That day, we were contacted by a customer from Brossard , on the South Shore of Montreal , who was concerned that his Fujitsu wall-mounted heat pump was no longer cooling his living room sufficiently, despite a normal operating display on the remote control.

Initial inspection: abnormal supply air temperature

Upon arrival, our technicians used a professional infrared thermometer to measure the air temperature at the outlet of the wall unit. The reading was 19.5°C , whereas under normal conditions, a high-performance Fujitsu heat pump should expel air at around 8°C to 10°C in cooling mode.

This simple reading confirmed that the cooling efficiency was insufficient , despite an appliance that seemed to be working correctly.

Step 1 – Checking the indoor unit

Our technicians opened the top panel of the unit to check:

  • Air filters , slightly dirty, reducing air circulation;

  • The internal heat exchanger , clean, but showing uneven traces of humidity;

  • The motorized shutter , operating normally.

This first inspection made it possible to rule out a problem with internal ventilation or the control board.

Step 2 – Inspect the outdoor unit and check the refrigerant pressure

We then inspected the outdoor unit, where a lack of refrigerant was quickly suspected. Connecting our digital pressure gauges, we found a lower pressure than normal for the R410A gas type used by this Fujitsu model.

A micro-leak on the service connection solder was detected using an electronic leak detector . This is a common situation after several seasonal cycles, especially when the vibrations of the outdoor unit exert constant stress on the connections.

Step 3 – Repair and Refrigerant Recharge

The intervention consisted of:

  1. Close service valves and recover residual refrigerant safely;

  2. Clean and re-solder the defective connection;

  3. Perform a nitrogen pressure test to confirm leak tightness;

  4. Carry out a complete vacuum of the circuit;

  5. Recharge the system with the exact amount of R410A recommended by Fujitsu .

After these steps, we restarted the heat pump and retested the temperature at the outlet of the wall unit: the reading showed 7.8°C , a clear sign that the repair had fully restored performance.

Result: comfort regained and efficiency restored

The customer immediately noticed the difference. The blown air was cool, steady, and powerful , and the room quickly returned to a comfortable temperature. The heat pump operated quietly and without compressor overheating, indicating that the refrigerant charge was now optimal.

Our technicians also took the time to explain to the customer how to recognize the warning signs of a leak , including:

  • Air less cold than usual;

  • A compressor that stays running longer;

  • No condensation on the cold pipe;

  • A slight increase in the electricity bill.

Prevention and recommended maintenance

We advised the client to have a full annual maintenance including:

  • Cleaning the indoor and outdoor coils ;

  • Checking the refrigerant pressure ;

  • Disinfection of the condensate tray ;

  • Checking the electrical connections and the fan .

These regular maintenance procedures are essential to extend the life of a Fujitsu heat pump and avoid performance losses caused by small leaks or internal obstructions.

AirGreen expertise serving sustainable comfort

At AirGreen , we combine field experience and advanced diagnostic technology to effectively service all makes and models of HVAC systems , whether Fujitsu, Midea, Gree, Mitsubishi, Lennox or others.

Our goal remains the same with every call: to ensure optimal comfort and maximum energy efficiency for our customers in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, on the North Shore and the South Shore .

In summary

This intervention in Brossard perfectly illustrates the importance of an accurate diagnosis: a simple temperature difference measured at the air outlet made it possible to identify a micro refrigerant leak invisible to the naked eye , quickly corrected thanks to the know-how of our certified technicians.

Through a methodical approach and the use of professional equipment, AirGreen has restored this Fujitsu heat pump to its full cooling power , guaranteeing comfort, economy and reliability for several seasons to come.
