Accurate diagnosis and efficiency from AirGreen
At AirGreen , we were recently called to Saint-Bruno for an HVAC service call regarding a Gree wall-mounted air conditioner that was no longer producing sufficiently cold air. The customer, noticing a stagnant indoor temperature despite a low setting, preferred to call our certified technicians for a quick assessment before the arrival of the hottest days.
Inspection and technical analysis
When we arrived, the Gree wall-mounted air conditioner was working, but the temperature measured at the air outlet was well above normal. Armed with our professional infrared thermometer , we recorded a temperature of 15.3°C at the diffuser outlet, while a system in good condition should blow around 7 to 9°C in air conditioning mode.
This reading clearly indicated a drop in performance of the refrigeration circuit . We then carried out a complete diagnosis including:
-
Check filters : slightly dirty, but not so dirty as to block airflow.
-
Inspection of the evaporator coil : presence of dust and greasy deposits reducing heat exchange.
-
Analysis of the compressor and outdoor condenser : compressor functional, but insufficient refrigerant pressure .
-
Test of electronic boards and temperature sensor : normal operation.
Repair intervention
Once the diagnosis was confirmed, our technicians took the following steps:
-
Complete cleaning of the indoor coil and filters to restore optimal air circulation.
-
Checking the tightness of the refrigeration circuit : detection of a micro-leak on a flare connection to the outdoor unit.
-
Repair of the fitting , professional tightening with application of torque in accordance with Gree and RBQ standards.
-
Recharging the system with R410A refrigerant , carried out precisely according to the manufacturer's technical data.
-
Final performance test : the outlet air temperature dropped back to 7.6°C , confirming the return to optimal efficiency.
Results and customer satisfaction
The customer immediately noticed a significant improvement in indoor comfort , with rapid and quiet cooling. The unit, well maintained and upgraded, should now provide several years of stable operation. We also recommended annual maintenance to prevent further gas loss or reduced efficiency.
