Repair of a Midea ducted system in Brossard

A complex service call in a cramped attic

  2. Complete cleaning of the condensate tray and clogged drainage lines ;

  3. Checking the wiring and replacing oxidized terminals ;

  4. Added thermal insulation around the control box to reduce the effects of ambient heat in the attic;

  5. Complete system testing in heating and cooling mode to ensure stable operation.

Once the work was completed, the system was back to full performance. The airflow in the ducts was measured at nearly 890 CFM , which is the nominal value recommended by the manufacturer.

Security and preventive maintenance

We took advantage of our intervention to recommend some adjustments to the customer to extend the life of the system:

  • Installation of a condensate overflow detector , often mandatory in uninsulated attics;

  • Added an accessible cut-off switch to facilitate future interventions;
