Accurate diagnosis and rapid repair by our AirGreen team
At AirGreen , we were recently called to Sainte-Dorothée, Laval , to work on a Midea wall-mounted heat pump that was no longer cooling properly. The customer, a resident of a modern duplex, had noticed a lack of performance and an abnormal noise when the indoor unit started up for several days.
Initial inspection and problem identification
Upon our arrival, we performed a complete check of the HVAC system , including:

air flow control;
-
refrigerant pressure measurement;

checking the outdoor compressor;
-
and visual inspection of the indoor unit.
Our technician quickly noticed that the filters were clogged with a significant buildup of dust and that the interior fan was producing an irregular whistling noise . These symptoms suggested an imbalance in the blower motor caused by excessive dirt.
Disassembly and thorough cleaning
We carefully removed the front panel of the Midea heat pump to access the filters, coils and fan turbine .
A complete cleaning was carried out using specialized biodegradable products for HVAC systems.
Next, the condensate drain was cleaned , as a slight obstruction was beginning to form, which could eventually cause water to overflow inside the wall.
Replacing the temperature probe
During the final test, we observed an inconsistent reading between the ambient temperature and the temperature displayed on the remote control. After checking with an ohmmeter, the indoor temperature sensor was found to be defective.
We therefore replaced this part with an original Midea probe , thus ensuring the accuracy of temperature control.
Result: restored performance and satisfied customer
After reassembly, the Midea heat pump was powered up. The fresh air flow returned to full power and the noise level returned to perfectly normal .
The customer immediately noticed the difference: a stable temperature, a silent device and restored interior comfort.
