Sharp Airest: a wall heat pump certified as an air cleaner.
MERV 14 activated-carbon filter, AHAM certification for a 471 sq ft room and an AHR Innovation 2026 award. According to Sharp, it’s the first wall unit to earn that certification. And it’s still a real heat pump: heating down to -27°C, $1,800 in LogisVert. We install it in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, the South Shore and the North Shore.
The Airest in six figures

Pick a filter. Watch what gets through.
The MERV scale runs from 1 to 16. At MERV 14, the standard requires capturing at least 75% of particles from 0.3 to 1 µm, 90% from 1 to 3 µm and 95% from 3 to 10 µm. Sharp’s Airest manual gives 75 to 84% for the finest.
Minimum efficiencies from ASHRAE Standard 52.2, per NAFA (January 2026). Filters are tested new; upkeep matters.

AHAM suggested room size, at 4.8 air changes per hour. Beyond it, the unit still filters, but cycles the air less often. 1 m² = 10.764 sq ft.

At -27°C, the Airest still delivers 8,200 BTU/h. For heating at -30°C at 12,000, look at the CHU 12,000 or the FilterSweep.

Sharp’s first award in indoor air quality.
At AHR Expo 2026, the Airest won the Innovation Award in the indoor air quality category, a first for Sharp in that category. At its booth, Sharp ran a demo with two glass boxes full of smoke, one with an Airest and one with a regular heat pump: according to Sharp, the Airest cleared the smoke faster.

Airest or another 12,000: air or heat?
At -30°C, the Airest no longer heats; the CHU 12,000 and the FilterSweep still do. What it adds is the filter.

According to the Sharp manual, its MERV 14 activated-carbon filter captures 75 to 84% of particles from 0.3 to 1 micron. Sharp makes no health claims for its heat pumps in North America.
No. According to Sharp, the Airest heats down to -27°C. At -20°C, it still delivers 10,600 BTU/h. For more heat in deep cold at 12,000, look at the CHU 12,000 or the FilterSweep.

Yes, the Wi-Fi adapter is built in, according to Sharp. We set up the SHARP AIR app at installation.
For a room up to 471 sq ft, it’s certified as an air cleaner (AHAM), according to Sharp, and it heats and cools on top of that. A purifier like the KCP110CW (538 sq ft) moves from room to room and humidifies, but doesn’t heat. We help you choose based on the room.
The AZ-F120CU, according to Sharp. For how often to replace it, we follow the Airest manual and explain it at installation.
AHAM, the home appliance manufacturers’ association, certifies the room size an air cleaner can handle at 4.8 air changes per hour. For the Airest: 471 sq ft.
