The name says 7,000 BTU: that's the unit's size class. Durastar publishes 7,300 BTU/h at 230 V, a little more than its size class, and 7,200 at 208 V, the supply in many buildings.
3,500 WThe heater that heats the room
The "35" in DRPTAC07Y32351A means a 3.5 kW heater: 3,500 W (10,900 BTU/h) at 230 V, 2,897 W at 208 V, on the 6-20P plug of the LCDI cord supplied. It heats the room all winter.
50.5 dBThe noise at low speed
50.5 dB(A) at low speed, 51 at high speed, as published by Durastar. In a bedroom, that's the number that decides the complaints: the unit runs at night, two metres from the bed.

Quand le 9 000 BTU devient le bon choix
À raison d'environ 18 000 BTU/h par 1 000 pieds carrés, ajustés selon l'isolation, la fenestration et la hauteur des plafonds, 7 000 BTU visent une chambre nettement sous les 450 pieds carrés. Une chambre d'angle ou un pignon vitré font basculer le calcul vers le Climatiseur PTAC DURASTAR | 9000 BTU - R32. Le caisson étant identique, ce changement ne touche pas la découpe.
Quinze chambres, une à la fois : accès, dégagements et ordre de passage
L'ouverture et le manchon d'une chambre étroite
La coupe se fait à l'empreinte du caisson, 42 x 21 x 16 po, sous la fenêtre existante quand la structure le permet, avec un linteau dès qu'un montant porteur est coupé. Le manchon mural est posé de niveau avec sa pente vers l'extérieur, et la grille extérieure vient au-dessus de la ligne de neige.
Les dégagements devant le caisson et le mobilier
Un monobloc souffle dans une seule direction : ni le lit, ni la table de nuit, ni les rideaux longs ne doivent se trouver dans l'axe, et la reprise d'air reste dégagée. Dans une chambre étroite, cela se décide avant la coupe, sur le plan de mobilier prévu après rénovation.
Entre deux séjours : filtre, grille et contrôle rapide
- Un délai de trois minutes au redémarrage protège le compresseur.
- De l'eau s'écoule côté extérieur par temps humide : c'est le condensat.
- Un ronflement dans le mur signale un manchon mal calé.
