The name says 9,000 BTU: that's the unit's size class. Durastar publishes 8,800 BTU/h at 230 V, and 8,700 at 208 V, the supply in many buildings. Better to read it here than on the spec sheet after installation.
3,500 WThe heater that heats the room
The "35" in DRPTAC09Y32351A means a 3.5 kW heater: 3,500 W (10,900 BTU/h) at 230 V, 2,897 W at 208 V, on the 6-20P plug of the LCDI cord supplied. It heats the room all winter.
50.5 dBThe noise at low speed
50.5 dB(A) at low speed, 51 at high speed, as published by Durastar. In a bedroom, that's the number that decides the complaints: the unit runs at night, two metres from the bed.
1Pints of water it removes per hour

Les plinthes restent en place, le monobloc prend l'été
Un bureau satellite loué au mois à Saint-Léonard se chauffe déjà aux plinthes électriques, et le bail ne permet ni de les retirer ni de toucher au système du bâtiment. Après la canicule qui a vidé l'étage une semaine, il fallait une solution qui s'ajoute sans rien remplacer. Le Climatiseur PTAC DURASTAR | 9 000 BTU - R32 se limite à cela : un caisson, une ouverture, aucune reprise du chauffage.

Ce que le monobloc ne remplace pas
Cet appareil climatise. Il ne chauffe pas, et nous ne lui faisons pas dire le contraire : les plinthes gardent l'hiver et le caisson prend la belle saison. Pour un local loué au mois, l'arbitrage est net : le chauffage appartient au bâtiment, la climatisation au locataire. Quand un chauffage d'appoint est voulu dans le même caisson, c'est la Thermopompe PTAC DURASTAR | 9000 BTU - R32 qu'il faut regarder.
Le condensat, le mur et l'alimentation d'un local loué au mois
Aucune ligne à percer entre deux locaux
Tout se joue dans une seule ouverture. Aucune unité extérieure, aucune ligne frigorifique à faire courir dans un plafond suspendu partagé avec le local voisin, aucun percement dans une cloison qui ne vous appartient pas. C'est ce qui rend la demande d'autorisation au propriétaire courte : une coupe, un manchon mural, une grille extérieure.
L'écoulement du condensat vers la ruelle
Le condensat quitte le caisson par le bas, côté extérieur, grâce à la pente vers l'extérieur donnée au manchon. Côté ruelle, nous vérifions ce que l'eau rencontre : une porte de service ou une zone de livraison se salissent vite. La grille extérieure se place au-dessus de la ligne de neige, hors de l'axe d'un camion qui recule.
Le bruit de fond d'un bureau, et l'entretien
- Un délai de trois minutes au redémarrage protège le compresseur.
- De l'eau s'écoule côté extérieur par temps humide : c'est le condensat.
- Le ventilateur tourne encore après l'arrêt du compresseur.
