The right size for a single-storey home
The bungalow with a basement is still one of the most common homes around Montreal. Its ductwork usually starts in the basement and serves a single floor, which suits a 2-ton central system well. Arcoaire’s D5FUAAH24XAK is the air handler for that size: it receives energy from the outdoor unit and pushes 759 CFM through your ducts. In summer, it circulates the air cooled by its coil; in winter, with a heat pump, it distributes the heat the heat pump captures outdoors.
It is sold alone. It is therefore for homeowners replacing an air handler at the end of its life, and for contractors assembling a system with a compatible outdoor unit.
Same footprint as the 1.5-ton, more airflow
The cabinet is 45.00 in high, 17.52 in wide and 21.02 in deep, exactly like the 1.5-ton size in the series. The difference is in the airflow. Choosing between the two is not a matter of space but of needs: we assess the rooms, the insulation and the outdoor unit before recommending one or the other.
In an unfinished basement, the cabinet fits easily in a corner, near the start of the main ducts. In a finished basement, its narrow width often lets us keep it in the existing mechanical room without moving a partition.
What we check before ordering
An air handler sold alone must be compatible with the outdoor unit, refrigerant included. Because the confirmed data for this model does not name an outdoor unit or an electric heat option, we check those points with your unit’s model number. We also look at the power supply: the cabinet accepts 115 V (5.5 A minimum circuit ampacity) or 208/230 V (4 A), with a 15 A maximum overcurrent protection.

Our technicians then set the cabinet, connect the ducts, the 3/8 in and 3/4 in refrigerant line set, the drain and the electrical supply, then commission the system. If existing ducts leak or are poorly insulated, we point it out at the estimate. Our RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 covers ventilation, refrigeration and electrical work.
