What the D5FUAAH60XAK offers
Arcoaire’s D5FUAAH60XAK is the 5-ton air handler in the series, with the highest airflow: 1,583 CFM. Installed indoors, it circulates the air heated or cooled by the outdoor unit through the ducts. It is sold alone: it is used to replace an air handler of the same capacity or to complete a system with a compatible outdoor unit.
It is for very large homes, properties whose ductwork serves three levels and buildings whose heating and cooling needs truly justify a system of this size.
Four or five tons: sizing first
The 5-ton size shares its cabinet and electrical data with the 4-ton size; only the airflow changes. Choosing the larger one just in case is not a good idea: a system too large for the house runs in short cycles and brings no extra comfort. We therefore assess the real needs of the house before recommending one or the other.
That assessment takes into account the living area, the insulation, the windows and the outdoor unit, existing or planned. The match, refrigerant included, is also checked before ordering, because the confirmed data for this model does not name an outdoor unit or an electric heat option.
What to plan for at home
The cabinet is 52.99 in high, 24.49 in wide and 21.02 in deep. We check the access route to the mechanical room, stairs and door frames included, as well as the service clearance the manufacturer requires.
On the electrical side, it accepts 115 V or 208/230 V, single phase. At 115 V, the minimum circuit ampacity reaches 14.5 A for a 15 A maximum overcurrent protection; at 208/230 V, it is 11 A. Its refrigerant connections are 3/8 in for the liquid line and 3/4 in for suction.
