What sets the FCM4X3600AL apart
Most air handlers are set by hand: a speed tap is chosen at installation and never touched again. The FCM4X3600AL works differently. Its variable-speed ECM motor talks to the Observer communicating wall control, which configures the system and sets the airflow, at 350 CFM per ton nominal. Fewer manual settings, then, and an airflow that follows what the control asks for.
The three-row aluminum coil is fitted with a bi-flow hard-shutoff TXV. This 3-ton R-410A fan coil suits homeowners who want a complete communicating central system, and those whose Arcoaire communicating air handler needs replacing. It requires a compatible outdoor unit and control: we check this before any order.
Designed for conditions here
In Québec, the air handler is often installed in a basement that is humid in summer, a garage or an attic space. Arcoaire uses a pre-painted galvanized steel cabinet and insulation with a vapour barrier, designed to prevent condensation on the panels. The cabinet is also tight: published air leakage is below 2% at 0.5 in of water column, which keeps the conditioned air in your ducts.
It installs upflow, downflow or horizontal, which covers most basements, closets and attics. The washable filter is factory supplied. Electric backup heat is added with a kit sold separately, which we choose with you.
On warranty, Arcoaire prints for this model a 10-year No Hassle replacement limited warranty, for owner-occupied residential use, in addition to the parts limited warranty.
Installation and commissioning by AirGreen
A communicating system needs careful commissioning. After a free on-site estimate and a written quote, our technicians set the cabinet, connect the refrigerant line set, the primary and secondary drain, the power supply and the communication wiring, then configure the system with the Observer control. We then check operation in cooling and heating.

Is the Observer wall control required?
The FCM4X is designed for it. With the Observer communicating wall control, it configures itself and the control sets the airflow. We check that your outdoor unit and control are compatible before ordering.
What are the refrigerant connection sizes?
They are not in the confirmed data for this model. We check them on the unit and on your existing line set before the work, so the right fittings are on hand.
Is electric heat included?
No. Backup heat is added with a heater kit sold separately, selected from Arcoaire’s documentation and the capacity of your panel.
Does this air handler qualify for a grant?
Not when it is sold alone. Hydro-Québec’s LogisVert grant follows a certified outdoor unit + air handler pair.
What warranty does Arcoaire provide?

Can you install and configure it?
