What the FVM4X4800BL is
The FVM4X4800BL is the indoor part of an R-410A central system: it receives refrigerant from the heat pump or air conditioner, conditions the air and distributes it through your ducts. Its 1/2 HP variable-speed ECM motor covers a range of 425 to 1,600 CFM, and Arcoaire’s tables list it with outdoor units of size 30, 36, 42 or 48. The three-row aluminum coil ships with its TXV already installed at the factory.
That flexibility suits large homes, cottages with a finished basement and properties whose outdoor unit will be replaced later: the cabinet adjusts to the size of the unit chosen. The model is available while supplies last.
Humid summers, cold winters: what it brings to a home here
In July, comfort does not depend on temperature alone. The FVM4X has a built-in dehumidification function, so the supply air is drier on muggy days. The cabinet is insulated with 1 in of R-4.2 insulation, and its published air leakage stays below 2% at 0.5 in of water column.
In winter, the Heat Pump Comfort option lowers the airflow in heat pump heating to deliver warmer air, which avoids the feeling of a cool draft at the registers. For extreme cold, an electric heater kit can be added to the cabinet; it is sold separately and we choose it based on your electrical panel and your needs.
The cabinet installs upright or lying on its left side as standard, on its right side after a minor modification, and downflow with accessory kits. The washable filter is factory supplied.

At installation, our technicians set the cabinet, connect the refrigerant line set, the drain and the power supply, set the airflow for the outdoor unit size and the mode you want, then commission the system.

Which outdoor unit does it work with?
Arcoaire’s airflow tables list this air handler with R-410A outdoor units of size 30, 36, 42 or 48. Send us your model and we confirm compatibility and the setting before ordering.
What is the Heat Pump Comfort option for?
In heat pump heating, it lowers the airflow to deliver warmer air: 1,260 CFM in Comfort mode versus 1,400 in Efficiency mode, according to the manufacturer.
Is electric heat included?
No. The heating element is added with a kit sold separately, selected from Arcoaire’s documentation and the capacity of your electrical panel.
Does this air handler qualify for a grant?
Not when it is sold alone. Hydro-Québec’s LogisVert grant follows a certified outdoor unit + air handler pair.
What warranty does Arcoaire provide?
For this model, Arcoaire prints a 10-year No Hassle replacement limited warranty and a 5-year parts limited warranty, extended by 5 years with timely registration, for owner-occupied residential use.
Is this model still available?
