9,200What it really delivers in cooling
The name says 9,000 BTU: that's the unit's size class. Amana publishes 9,200 BTU/h at 230 V, a little more than its size class, and 9,000 at 208 V, the supply in many buildings.
5,000 WThe heater that heats the room
At Amana, the two digits after the series letter (the ** in HEC093J**AXXX) set the heater when ordering: 1.5, 2.5, 3.5 or 5.0 kW at 230 V, 1.3 to 4.1 kW at 208 V. At 5.0 kW it takes a 6-30P plug on 30 A; at 3.5 kW, a 6-20P on 20 A. It heats the room all winter.
12.8Efficiency above the standard model
